SUNDAY MEANDERINGS

Girly Comments & Graphics

Good Sunday Mornin' Yall,

Won't you please come in and make yourself at home and have a cup of coffee with me this morning? I don't have anything sweet to eat, but you are more than welcome to have coffee with me. I do hope everyone had a great Saturday and ready to start a new day. It is currently 61 degrees here this morning and on the windy side as well. Did you say 61 degrees? Yes maam, you heard right. LOL. It's suppose to be up near 70 degrees today and tomorrow as well. That's kind of scarry because that's not normal temperatures for Arkansas here in January. They say we may have some storms Monday into Tuesday and possibly severe. I sure hope not. I don't mind the rain and occasional thunder, but I don't like the severe weather at all. Since it's looking like we aren't going to get any Snow this Winter, mabye be can all go out and do a Snow Dance after we have our morning coffee. LOL. Hey, if it works for rain, why not try it for Snow.

Yesterday was a busy day around here. I woke up around 3:45a.m. My alarm was set to go off at 7:00a.m. My DH and our youngest daughter woke up a little after 7:00a.m. on their own. Our oldest daughter got up around 8:00a.m. Me and DH had our morning coffee and we all got ready. We went out to our Gym to watch the Pee-Wee Boys Basketball Games. Our youngest daughter was cheering there. They did good on their Cheers and even did a Court Cheer at one of the half-time games. My DH and our oldest daughter had to leave the Gym around 9:30a.m. to go to Manila, AR for her Basketball Game. While I was here at our Gym, I got to watch 2 of my nephews play their games. My nephew that is in the same grade as our youngest daughter played first and they won their game. The next game was the 5th grade boys and they lost their game. The 3rd game, my nephew that is in the same grade as our oldest daughter is, played, and it was a good game. It was a close game and they even had to go into a 3-minute overtime. My nephew lost their game by 2 points, but they did play a very good game. During one of the half-time games I went outside and called my DH to see how our oldest daughter's game was going. It was half-time at her game and the score was Manila 12 and Rebels 6. I just knew our girls were going to lose their game. After her game was over with, our oldest daughter called me and told me that they ended up winning the game 36 to 22. Woooohoooo, GO REBELS!!!! After half-time, our girls came back and scored 30 points to win the game. My Parents and DH said it was a good game. They have one more game for this coming Saturday and then in a week or so, they have their end of the Season Tournament. It will be at Armorel, AR. The last 2 years, our girls have been undefeated and won both Championship Games. They have lost 2 games this year. I think it was because they were playing 2 new teams that hadn't been in the League before. I do hope they can at least place in the upcoming Tournament. This will be their last year of playing Pee-Wee Basketball together. They will all be moving up to Junior High next School year. This means that some of them won't get to play because since we are consolidated, they will have to have some girls from the other School as well as our School on the team. They will also have try-outs. I'm figuring this is our oldest daughter's last year to play. She is a good ball player, but you know how it is, they will choose the best ones to play on the team. I do hope that she will get to play next year, but if she doesn't, maybe she can find another activity in school to do.

After the Basketball Games and Cheerleading, we had to come to the house and load DH's things in our vehicle to take to put in their truck. We then went and picked his Uncle up that lives here in town as well and took DH and his Uncle to their truck. They left a little after 1:00p.m. heading toward's Canada. After that, me and the girls went to pick my MIL up here in town and went to Jonesboro to the Birthday Party. My nephew had a good turnout. I think there were 17 kids there to Skate. Everyone had a good time. No, I didn't get out there and skate. I didn't want to put anyone to shame out there. ROFLMBO. No, seriously tho, I can't skate all that good at all. I'm even scared to get out there and even try. LOL. I will tell you this tho, I'm thinking of having our oldest daughter's Birthday Party there in April, so, I might, and might being a BIG word, just get out there and skate a bit. Maybe I will have my new Camera by then, and I will get someone to take a picture of me, if I do. While at the Birthday Party yesterday, a couple of the Mother's had dropped their Son's off at the party and theyhad to go do their shopping. When they came back, they had been to Wal-Mart's. They said the place was like a madhouse. They said you couldn't hardly get up and down the aisles. I'm sure glad I didn't have to go to Wal-Mart's. I don't like going there anymore anyway as you may know. They also said that the Gas Pumps at the Wal-Mart Gas Station was packed as well. I did notice as we were going thru one of the town's going to Jonesboro yesterday, that Regular Unleaded Gas was $3.05 a gallon. I think they said it was like $2.93 a gallon at the Wal-Mart Pumps with the Wal-Mart Card you use. It was $2.99 a gallon here in town at our local Gas Station yesterday when we put some Gas in our vehicle. I tell ya, if this gas keeps going up, I may have to try and find me a Covered Wagon like they used back in the good ole days. LOL. Well, I don't know, a bicycle might be better. I sure wish it would go down tho. That's just unreasonable for gas to be that high. Something needs to happen and it needs to happen quickly too. For us poor folks, it is very hard on the pocketbook. Anyway, after the Birthday Party was over with, we came home. It had started misting on us before we got into town. I don't know if it rained anymore last night or not.

Last night for mine and the girl's supper, since I was, as my good friend Diane would say, I is TARD, I put some French Fries and Tacorito's in the oven. It didn't take them long to cook. I like that kind of cooking since I was TARD.

I have no idea what my Sunday Menu plans are today. I have laundry to do and some dishes to wash. We may have some Ramen Noodles or something. I don't usually cook a big meal when it's just me and the girls. I usually wait till DH is home and do that. The girl's usually clean their Bedroom's on Sunday afternoon's. Last Sunday afternoon, they helped clean the whole house. They mopped the Dining Room and the hallway Bathroom. I was so proud of them. They are growing up fast on us. It's time they help me around the house anyway. I told them that when they were small, I used to get down on my hands and knees and clean their Bedroom. I'm too old for that now. LOL. Plus, by them doing some cleaning on their own, shows some responsibility I think.

My DH called me around 4:55a.m. this morning. I was still asleep. He thought I might have already been up having coffee. He was letting me know that he was near Roanoke, VA and he was going to quit driving in a little while and go to bed. He didn't have much sleep yesterday afternoon after they took off. He did get him a little nap he said. He will have to get used to staying awake all night again. I told him I bet he wouldn't have any trouble sleeping today. He said it had been raining on him and was still raining on him. After we talked, I got up and started me some coffee. I'm fixing to have my 3rd cup here in a few mintues. Oh, I will make us another pot. Don't worry, we can have coffee all day long if you want to . LOL.

Well, guess I'm going to go for now. I think I have about posted enough for one day. LOL. Yall have a Blessed Sunday and May God Bless Each and Everyone of You. Take care.

LOVE & HUGS,

Good morning, The weather here is like yours except we have 48 degrees. Our High School girls won a hard fought game last night.

Yes, go ahead and copy that poem and about the kids and sports. I think it needs to be spread around.

Have a great day, it is time for me to get ready for Sunday School.

Love and Hugs,

I'm awake! I'm awake!! Hope you left me some coffee!!!! hehe Good morning dear Karen:-) You're the first one I'm visiting today since I didn't make it here yesterday...I had such a horrible headache all day and being at the computer was NOT a good idea. This morning I'm feeling much better:-)

It's 35F here which is very mild for us for this time of year...a heatwave! lol That will make a lot of our snow melt I'm sure. The weather sure has been strange everywhere lately!!

Wow, your daughter's team sure did do a comeback by winning the game after being down before half time! Yeahhhhh Rebels! Hmmmm maybe I should join your younger daughter and become a cheerleader?? No?? Oh well! hehe

What a great birthday party idea, to go skating! I use to go skating all the time with the boys when they were younger but it's been years since I have...I'd probably spend more time on my butt than on my skates! lol

Gas has gone up again here too...right now it's $1.10 a liter which makes it $4.40 a gallon. OUCH! Pretty soon we'll all have to be riding our bikes!

Prayers that your hubby and uncle stay safe on their journey...as you said, it will take time to adjust having to be awake all night long instead of during the day.

Have a great day my friend and hopefully you can relax and put your feet up after such a busy day yesterday. Love ya! xoxox

Take care and don't clean too much on your house...you will make me feel bad!! haha

Well, Karen, I'm here finally!! Yes I slept too late today. I do have an excuse. My back hurt off and on all night and kept waking me. Wahhh! lol Anyway, I'm so glad you put on another pot of coffee. I have Krispy Kreme donuts so we're all set!!

Sounds like you had some excitement with all those games last night! Yah, Rebels!! Don't you hate when you can't be in both places at once? I remember those days and being torn about it.

Well, your DH came right by me on his way to Roanoke. He should have stopped by for coffee!! lol
It has rained here since last night so I knew he hit rain on the journey. You're right about those gas prices soaring. It really is scary. I just can't see you hitching up the horse to the covered wagon though!! :) You'd better get that bicycle instead. The price of feed is way up too and you know that horse would have to eat!!

I know you've already been to Lib's place. Didn't you just love those pics and how she's totally surrounded by woods?? So cool!

Have a great Sunday, my sweet little weather girl!

Love and Hugs,
Hope

It's warm over there! Wow! we got pretty warm here before our storm. We didn't get nearly the amount of rain we were hoping, but it's wet out here! Your weekend sounded busy - with skating, too! I haven't skated in a long time - I alway fall anyways!LOL I've been continuing to pray for your Hubby on the road. God bless you, dear friend! Hope the coming storms won't be too severe!

I just finished making some date bars...the house smells so good right now and I'm wanting to eat.

$2.99 huh? It's outrageous isn't it? I think here it's $2.89. But that was a couple of days ago...and someone may have f*rted over there where the oil is, and y'all know what that means...tack on another 10 cents a gallon!!! :::sigh::: I used to have a bike, maybe I'll get one. But on second thought...nah...too dangerous with the Texans driving...they'd run me down before I get to the corner.

Have a terrific evening dear Karen. See ya later alligator!!! Afterwhile.................

Hi Karen, just reading about your day yesterday made me feel exhausted. You get up so early! And what a busy day. I've posted an update on 12th Night traditions since some people hadn't hear of them before.

Hi Karen, I know I'm kinda late but I sure could use a cup of coffee.
We've have had horrible stormy weather the past few days...but today we had a clear spell and I had to run to Wal Mart for a few essentials...and it was crazy there.
Sounds like your Saturday was lots of fun, and today has been good too. Don't work to hard...have a nice evening. Linda

Hi, Karen. It's nearly midnight but I've been making my way through my Bloglines list visiting everyone and it's your turn. ;o)

I drink coffee all hours of the day and night. I usually drink at least a pot a day, sometimes more.

Good job to your girls!

It'll take you and your hubby a while to get used to being up at night and sleeping during the day again. Hope y'all adjust quickly.

I hope we don't get any bad storms tomorrow into Tuesday. It feels really creepy and icky out, not January weather at all!

Have a good week! ;o)

Love and hugs,

Diane

Gosh, thanks sweetie for the award. I try to post happy things. I don't want to blog gloom and doom if I can help it. After all, I'm doing this for fun!
We just finished dinner. I did a crock pot meal again. One of those already made up ones, meatball stroganoff. It's not diet food, but I did serve it with a green salad. I've been trying to make things like this since I went back to work.
I wish I had more time to visit.
Hugs,
Nan

good morning Karen,
my comment yesterday didn't take... I was in too much of a hurry I guess...
I had a great Monday...I love Monday's because I am completely off... I can do mostly the things that I like to do...of course I do have to wash a few clothes, and vacuum... but other than that I can do projects that I like to do...
Have a wonderful Tuesday!!
