MONDAY MEANDERINGS & AWARD'S

Good Monday Mornin' Yall,
I do hope that everyone had a Blessed Sunday and ready to start a new day. It is currently 26 degrees with a windchill of 15 degrees. The winds are out of the East Northeast at 12 mph. I am having trouble sleeping, so I thought I would go ahead and do my post for today. I can always sleep after I take the girls to School later on this morning. We had another beautiful Sunshinny day here yesterday, but it only made it up to 44 degrees. The wind was blowing and that made it feel even colder. Rain is back in the forecast for tonight and in the morning. The high today is only suppose to be around 45 degrees also.
Since Thursday is VALENTINE'S DAY, I thought I would put up a Valentine Picture each day this week. I would like to say a BIG "THANK YOU" to Pea@ http://peascorner.blogspot.com/, Anni@ http://hootin--anni.blogspot.com/, and Shelley@ http://shelleysvintagevariety.blogspot.com/ for giving me some Valentine's Cards.
The above Card is from Pea. "THANK YOU" so much Pea. It is a beautiful card.
The above card is from Anni. "THANK YOU" so much Anni. It is a beautiful card.

This above card is from Shelley. "THANK YOU" Shelley for this beautiful card as well. I hope I haven't forgotten anyone that has given me a card. I know I'm so behind on acknowledging some things, but I 'm trying to get caught up. If I have forgotten someone, please know that I didn't do it on purpose and also let me know so I can acknowledge you and the card. I just Love Valentine's Day, don't you? I sure hope I haven't fogotten any Awards that I am suppose to acknowledge. If I have, please know that I didn't do it on purpose, and be sure to let me know about the Award. Sometimes life just takes over and as I'm getting older, I find it hard to remember things. I have to write things down just to remember what to blog about. LOL. Am I the only one that does that kind of thing? I sure hope not. LOL. I've had so many things to share with you today, I feel as if I've put in a 40-hour week. LOL. Just a little humor there yall.

My DH left out going to Salt Lake City yesterday morning. The last time I talked to him last night was around 11:30p.m. and he was just getting into Wyoming. He was going to drive down to Wamsutter, WY, and then let his Uncle take it on into Salt Lake City. Everything is going good so far for them and the weather seems to be co-operating with them. So, hopefully, they will get to come in on early Wednesday morning and stay till noon on Wednesday. Hopefully they will get home sooner than last Wednesday morning. After my DH left around 5:00a.m. yesterday morning, I finished the pot of coffee I had made for me and him. With both of us drinking coffee, we usally get about 2 cups a piece from the pot. Now we don't drink out of your normal coffee mugs or cups. He has a 30 ounce cup that he got at a truck stop and I have a 16 ounce cup that I got from a truck stop when I was out with him one time. Well, needless to say, 2 of my cups isn't going to do it for me, so I made another pot of coffee. I had 2 of my cups from it and when the girls left for Church, I ate my bowl of Corn Flakes and layed back down. I fell asleep and woke back up around 12:30p.m. I still had 2 cups left, so I finished drinking the rest of the coffee. I guess that's why I'm still awake now. LOL. Too much coffee for me yesterday. I haven't made any just yet, but I will before too long tho. I've got to have my coffee fix or else I get grouchy. LOL. The girls ate lunch at Church because their Wednesday night group, Kid's for Christ, was going to a Nursing Home in Lake City, AR, to deliver some Valentine Card's to the elderly there. They had been working on the cards in class on Wednesday nights. They got home around 3:00p.m. and said they had a good time. After they got home, I told them it was time to clean their bedrooms really good. I didn't have any trouble out of them doing it this time. LOL. Sometimes I do and have to stay on them till their rooms are clean. They both did a great job and I am very proud of them. I had told my DH about it once last night when I was talking to him, and he told me to tell the girls he was proud of them also. I told them when they were done to keep it clean because their Daddy was going to look at it when he gets home early Wednesday morning. So, hopefully they will. They also took out the trash and put the big garbage can by the road. Today is garbage pick-up here in our town. I had heated up those Cheeseburgers and Hot Dogs that my DH had cooked for us on Saturday afternoon. That is what we had for our supper last night. There is still enough for me and the girls to eat the rest of them tonight for our supper. I am "THANKFUL" for not having to do alot of cooking. LOL. But I do love it when my DH cooks out on the grill for us. After they had their supper, they got their baths and put their pajama's on.

I was watching t.v. last night and I was watching the Extreme Home Makeover. Did any of you watch it? I tell ya, it was so heart warming and touching. There was a guy who lives in Kansas and had served in the Marines over in Iraq. He lost one of his legs and he is divorced and is raising 4 kids himself. The Makeover Team came and built them a new home that was Handicapped Accessible. It was beautiful. Anyway, I could actually tell that this Marine, was very "THANKFUL" for his new home. You hardly ever see a man cry and if you do see a man cry, it's not really crying like us ladies do. This guy was crying yall. Oh my goodness, it touched my heart so and I had big old tears in my eyes for him and his happiness. I don't know why I watch shows like that because I know it's going to make me all teary-eyed, but I can't help myself from watching shows like that. Maybe it's a hormonal thing I'm going thru. LOL. My DH tells me from time to time that he thinks I'm going thru the change of life. I am like LOL, yeah right, how would you know? LOL. You are not doctor. But then he says he knows because his Mother went thru it and he say's I have the same symptoms. Oh well, leave it to Dr. DH, and he will make me all better. LOL. If only men could experience some of the pains and aches and go thru the things we have to go thru. Wouldn' t that be sight to see? LOL. I'm not downing my DH yall, we joke around with each other all the time.

Well, I guess I've about posted enough for this Monday. I think I will go lay back down and see if I can get me a nap before my alarm goes off at 4:30a.m. I will get back up and fix me a pot of coffee then. Take care my friends and have a great day. May God Bless You and Yours.

LOVE & HUGS,

Hi Karen
I'm the first to comment! 9.45 am here and I guess you'll be asleep now where you are. It's another beautiful sunny day here. It isn't warm enough to put the bunny outside yet, but I guess in an hour or so it will be. I hope you have a wonderful Monday. It sounds like your girls did such a good job cleaning up their rooms. I hope they can keep it that way so you husband can see it on Wednesday.

I always feel proud of the girls for cleaning their rooms, but it doesn't last long. Good incentive to keep it clean by saying DH wants to see their handiwork. :)

About a year and a half ago, the Extreme Makeover team was in our area helping a woman whose husband just died of cancer. She had four kids to raise. They made a mansion. It's beautiful. The Makeover team was really affected by the help and neighborly feel of the area. Everyone wanted to help. The makeover was in honor of the husband and father, but he didn't make it to see it done. They even fixed a mill for them-it was something that he was always fixing for the small town. I am very happy for the family. They were about 20 minutes away. The team stayed in a hotel in our town. It was cool. :)

I am happy for the veteran and his family. I cry at those kind of shows because of the kindness and generosity. I didn't see it last night, though. :( I was watching chick flicks on Lifetime. (I don't always watch a lot of TV unless it's late and I always forget what's on. I need to be reminded. I'm getting old, too. :)

I'm sure glad to hear that your hubby and his uncle are finding highways that aren't snowpacked and icy!!! That really made my day. And ya.........girlfriend 32 oz of high caffeine will keep you awake. rofl

Congratulations on all the awards Karen :)

I thought I loved coffee but I see I found someone who loves it even more than I do LOL

I watched the Extreme Makeover Edition and it was heartbreaking, I cried my eyes out. I think for me being a military wife it hits me even harder, I keep imagining my own husband getting killed or hurt like that....thankfully he hasn't but my heart goes out to the soldiers who have.

Have a great day,

Hugs and kisses,
Sandra

Good morning Karen... Guess it is pretty cold in your state. Im on my second cup of coffee just being lazy. Have to go into work at 2:30, but need to go ship EBay first so I gotta get rolling. Hope you have a great day and don't miss your hubby to bad.

I'm like you, Karen. Those home makeover shows make me cry every time, but I'm so happy for the ones who have help getting their lives back in some kind of order.

Yes, those tornadoe's were devastating. I'm glad your community was able to help so much. It really does take towns like yours and mine to make a difference in the lives of others who have suffered so.

I hope you have a good week. Those hamburgers and hot dogs sound soooo good. :)

Karen,

I love your animated Valentine. I enjoy seeing, giving and receiving Valentines. Guess it's the kid in me. LOL

It is COLD up here. With the windchill is was minus 30 Celsius this morning. That is minus 22 Fahrenheit and that wind is nasty. No school for the boys again today. I've had about enough of winter. I WANT SPRING. LOL

Congratulations on all the awards. You are definitely deserving of each of them and thank you for letting your visitors know about my giveaway. It's much appreciated.

Praying for your family and DH and his uncle to be safe. Take care and please drop over when you can.

Blessings,
Mary

Hi, Karen. My, that was a jam packed post, LOL! ;o)

We ended up having Mexican for dinner yesterday so I'm going to fix my butter beans and pork chops for supper tonight instead. I'm starving too and boy it sounds good right now!

Can you believe they've got a winter weather advisory in some of the same counties that the tornado hit? It comes really close to us, and it's only 36º now, so we may get some winter weather this evening and tonight. And there's snow in the forecast for this weekend!

Y'all stay warm and take care,

Diane

Good Evening Karen,
Congratulations on your awards and for your kindness and love to pass them on. THANK YOU!

I pray that you will have a restful nights sleep tonight and be refreshed with energy for tomorrow.

Your girls are so sweet to take Valentines to the nursing home...when I was an Acteen leader in our church about 10 years ago we loved going on our missions in action visits each month. The patients/residents always enjoyed our visits. Tell the girls that I am so PROUD of them for reaching out to those special people in a loving way.

It is so wonderful when the children help out with cleaning and taking the trash can to the road. That's a BIG help anytime. :)

Yes, Karen I did see the Extreme Home Makeover last night...I cried and cried. It was so heartwarming to see how appreciative the Marine was. You could tell that he was thankful from deep in his heart. What a great man and dad he is to be a single parent of 4 children. His sweet spirit of endurance with love was shinning through loud and clear. That show was such a blessing to me.

Take care my sweet and dear friend.May your week be filled with many blessings, lots of love and laughter just when you need it most. :)

Love to you,
Angela

Hi Karen,

Congratulations on all your awards, Karen. You are so deserving of them all. Thank you for passing three of those on to me and all on your blotroll. That was sweet of you.

Karen, I wouldn't sleep a wink if I drank that much coffee before going to bed. Coffee keeps me awake, but tea doesn't. Go figure.

I'm glad the weather is holding out for your DH and his uncle. Maybe now Spring will be just around the corner, but wait, I want one real good snow before Spring. How about you, Karen?

Good evening, Karen,

Congratulations on all the beautiful awards! A loving, kindhearted soul like you deserves every one of them!

You know, after a gorgeous Saturday and a cooler, but lovely Sunday, we've been having a downer of a Monday. Sleet, then freezing rain followed that. But it wasn't too much of the stuff, and I was sighing a sigh of relief. But guess what? It's giving us another round tonight, so I dunno what we will wake up to. Maybe an ice rink, but I'm still hoping that it won't be too bad. Besides, I don't ice skate!

I hope you didn't get any of the freezing rain in your area. I enjoyed reading about all your family doings, and wish you a restful night tonight.

Love and Hugs,

Renie
