THURSDAY THIS & THAT'S

Good Thursday Mornin' Yall,
It's a bitterly cold mornin' here this mornin'. It is currently 16 degrees and I think the winds are calm and we have no windchill. Of course, that could change. It was a bitterly cold day yesterday as well. The high only made it up to around 30 degrees here. Even tho the Sun was shinging, it was still very cold. I think today it's suppose to be up to around 35 degrees. They say by the weekend, it will be up into the 60's and may have some rain as well. Hey, remember, this is Arkansas, and we never know about our weather here. LOL.
Today, our girls will be starting back to school. I have no idea why the school decided to go back late in the week like this. I think most schools are starting back this coming Monday. Anyway, it may take them a few days to get back into the swing of things again. The girls have been used to staying up way past midnight and then sleeping late. Maybe by this coming Monday they will be back on track.
Hubby had his first day of orientation yesterday. He had to do the Physical again as part of the orientation process. They only gave him a year's certification because he had some blood in his urine. In the past, he would be certified for 2 years. He may have a bladder infection or something. Please keep him in your prayers that this will clear up. The company put DH and his Uncle up in a Hotel there last night. They still have some more orientation to do today. DH did say that since they had driven for them before, that they was going to try and get them in a truck later today and have them a load ready to go. They will have to leave out either late this afternoon or in the morning. They won't be back home till probably sometime next weekend. This will be a big adjustment for our Family. I also ask that you will keep us all in your prayers on adjusting to this new job and DH not being home as much as he had been.
I have another Giveaway to tell you about. You may remember me posting about a week or so ago about Jo@Neereandearcreations having a Giveaway on some paintings....cards....or pillow that she does. Well this time, Jo is having a "Second Chance" Giveaway on the same items in Honor of her 50th Post. All you have to do is stop by and leave Jo a comment letting her know which of the 3 items, painting....cards....or pillow and what picture you would have chosen had you won the first Giveaway. The Giveaway opened up yesterday and will end on Friday, January 11, 2008. The winner will be posted on Sunday, January 13, 2008. Yall be sure to go over and visit Jo@Neereandearcreations and choose from the beautiful samples she has over there. Trust me, she does some beautiful work.
I was going to do a "THANKFUL THURSDAY", but I'm not sure who is hosting it this week. I was looking at some previous blogs and there has been some changes on who is Hosting it now. Maybe I can find out before next Thursday and do one then.
I am having my second cup of coffee this morning. I had my alarm set to go off at 4:45a.m., but I woke up on my own around 3:30a.m. I layed there in bed trying to go back to sleep but I couldn't. So, I got on up and started my coffee. This coffee taste's especially good this morning since it is bitterly cold.
I guess I will go for now. I will go see who is up and if they aren't, well, I'm going to knock on their door to see if they want to have coffee with me. LOL. Take care my friends and have a great Thursday. May God Bless Each and Everyone of you. If you have to get out, be sure to dress warm. This cold snap has gone all the way down to Florida as well. I heard on the news last night that this cold snap may cause some damage to the Florida Orange Crop.
I also wanted to let you know that my friend, Amanda@JacarandaCottage had awarded me with the "I <3 href="mailto:Amanda@JacarandaCottage">Amanda@JacarandaCottage, please go by and pay her a visit. She always has some beautiful pictures of Beautiful Australia to share. "THANKS" again Amanda for this Award. I will be giving out this Award in a few days.

LOVE & HUGS,

Good morning, Karen!

It looks like you and I are the only ones up so far! I haven't had coffee, so I'll gladly join you in a cup. How about a cinnamon roll to go with that? Mmmmmm....cinnamon rolls.
It's VERY cold here in the mountains, too. It's about 10 degrees right now and there is a light dusting of snow on the ground. It looks like a winter wonderland. I am off work today and it's Sam's birthday so I'll be out doing some shopping later and then tonight, we're invited to a dear friend's house for supper. I was going to fix Sam steak for his birthday but this dear woman wanted us to be with her tonight and we love her so much and so I'll do steak later this weekend and in the meantime, we can enjoy a lovely evening with this sweet 87 year old friend.
I hope your husband's bladder problem clears up quickly....did they give him medication for that? I pray for safety and comfort for you and the girls while he's on the road.
Talk to you real soon!
Stay bundled up...

Hay Karen, The girls will get back in the swing. How you make it up before this farmer's wife is beyond me. Yes, I am here with a big cup of coffee trying to wake up. It is -3 here with 10 inches of snow. If you have a chance click on Carrie's site and see a picture of a basketball hoop full of snow. Well have a great day and keep warm.

Love and Hugs,
Joyce

Good Morning, Karen!

This morning we have 18 degrees and the high should reach 30 today. We have less wind which is a good thing.Otherwise we have a sunny day to enjoy.

The girls will get back into the swing of this real quick. Gstormy went back to school yesterday. It was hard for her to get up and get going too.

I will definitely keep hubby and his partner on my prayer list. I pray that this is a blessing for him getting this job. I will also pray for you and the girls that you can adjust to him being gone for a long period of time.

Thank you Karen for your visits and sweet comments. You are a dear friend.

Have a wonderful day filled with lots of love, friendship, blessings and laughter.

Hi Karen! It sounds like you will be having some changes coming up with your husbands new job. I hope you are able to adjust and things work out! My husband works in computers. One weekend a month, he has to go out of town and work. Oh how I dread those days! He goes this Saturday. I hope your husband's health is okay too! Hopefully it is just a bladder infection.

My boys had to go back today too and I wasnt happy about it. I think they should have had till Monday off. I may let them stay home tomorrow.

It was 0 degrees this morning with a negative windchill. I thought they should have cancelled school just for that reason! Oh well :)

Hope you have a wonderful day!
Hugs,
Amy

Mornin'! So good to hear you're donig well! I just got back from visiting my brother up in Redding, CA. We had a marvelous time, bringing in the New Year. Thanks for tagging me - I'll give it a whirl! :) 16 degrees is more than I can take, I think. We don't get that cold here, but we came close last year with 18...burrrrrr.....We're expecting to have about two inches of rain here, so I've got to go out and make sure everything is ship shape.
I'm continuing to pray for your Hubby - hope he doesn't have any infection! ugh!
God bless you, dear friend, on this lovely day!
Chrissie

Nice to catch up to you today. A cup of coffee sounds good right about now. I think I'll either put on a pot or make a cup of tea after I'm finished typing.

I may be dumb as a box of rocks but I have no idea what that award means. But congratulations anyway...lol!

Have a great day!

It's still only 28ยบ at 1 pm and I don't think it's gonna get much warmer today. Brr! But I love it.

I'm drinking my coffee, do you still have any left so you can join me? It's still tasting pretty good even now, and the warmth in my hands and tummy sure does feel good. ;o)

I've got to do some work on Cecil's blog and mine. I worked on it for several hours last night but I finally just gave up. I was too tired to mess with it much. I'd been to Jonesboro for my monthly shopping and then I had to go to Trumann, then back home, then BACK to Trumann to church! I was TARD, believe you me! ;o)

I hope your hubby and his uncle get a truck and a load out today. Time is money to a trucker. My nephew is an over the road trucker and so are several of my hubby's uncles and cousins.

Praying he's better soon, too. It's probably just a urinary tract infection. Truckers tend to get those a lot, too, from holding it too long because they don't want to stop and pull over.

Hope your day is a good one, Karen. Stay warm!

Love and hugs,

Diane

Shivering as I read this Karen!! Lordy, is that cold or what? It was supposed to get cold here last night and they had a freeze warning out just north of us. I guess with me cussing the fireplace last night scared it away from here. It was cold/damp --but 51. The chill factor made it seem colder of course, but now it's bright, sunny and going back to normal. I swear I am not happy either way...cold is no good, hot is no good and it seems every day there's no happy medium.

Keepin' y'all in prayer!!

[I'm with the girls too on this...having holidays in the beginning of the week I tend to forget what day of the week it is....it's been Sunday now for three days!!!]

Hi Karen,

It's really cold here today, too, only reaching a high temperature of 30 degrees. It was 18 degrees when I got up this morning.

It seems your girls' school would have started back on Monday. I don't understand their thinking on that. My grandsons don't have to go back until Monday. They got a long vacation.

I pray your DH doesn't have anything seriously wrong with him, Karen, and I will keep you all in my prayers.

Hi Karen, Brrr, you sure are having cold weather. I'm in norhtern California (not to far from your relatives) and we are getting ready for a hughe storm. Lots of rain and strong winds. I did what errands I had to do today, so I can stay in until the storm passes. I plan to stay nice and cozy stitching, watching TV and reading tonight and tomorrow.
Hope all is well with your hubby,I'm thinking of all of you. Linda

Hi Karen
It's already tomorrow for me. I was just updating my blog and thought I'd pop in to see what you'd been up to today. It sounds really cold where you are. It's cold here, but not freezing at the moment. I suppose it's afternoon where you are, but here it's after midnight so I'll go and get some sleep. Have a nice remainder of the day.

Hello dear Karen:-)

I haven't been out all day...no way I'm going out there in that frigid air!!! lol Thankfully it's supposed to start warming up in a few days...the HIGH today here was -2F!!! This cold front seems to have affected everyone, they were even having snow in Florida!! There goes the cost of oranges!! lol

Schools don't open until next Monday here so the children are still enjoying their time off. I'm sure many parents are pulling out their hair by now! lol

My prayers continue for your hubby...may his new job go well!! As for the blood in his urine, hopefully he'll get that checked out!

Thank you for letting us know about the giveaway, I'll have to go check it out:-) I woke up around 4 a.m. and was going to post but of course it figures my internet cable was down...so I went back to bed and managed to fall back asleep.

Congratulations on the award my friend...I too love your blog:-) Take care and stay warm!! xoxo

Good evening, Karen,

Came by to say good night. Prayers for your husband, and you and the girls. It didn't get too warm today, but at least the sun was shining. And there is promise from the weatherman that we'll be warming up soon!

Have a nice evening, dear Karen. Sleep tight and don't let the bed bugs bite! LOL. Just a little night time humor.

Love and Hugs,

Renie

Hi there, Karen. Just got home from bowling. I got home from work, changed clothes, and ten minutes later off to bowl. We won 2 of 3 games and total or 6 of 8 points! We aren't that great of bowlers but we enjoy it. I bowl with my H.
It was only 6 degrees here this morning. But, it is supposed to warm up to 50ish on Sunday.
Sorry that your H will have to be gone more from home but so glad he has a job. Also, hope that he just has a slight infection and nothing more. I'm sure that's it.
Hugs,
Nan

Hubby had to be at work at 8 on Tuesday morning... but had a good day... it was so cold yesterday and today... I just hope we don't have storms if it warms up this weekend... hope your hubby does ok... probably just needs some antibiotics for infection.. and he'll be fine... I don't mind my Hubby being gone a few nights but I don't like it if he's gone much more than that.... but sometimes he has to be gone.... Hope you have a good Friday..
