THANKFUL THURSDAY

Good Thursday Mornin' Yall,
I do hope everyone had a great Wednesday and ready to start a new day. It is currently 37 degrees with a windchill of 33 degrees. I do think it's a little foggy outside as well and the winds are currently out of the South at 5mph. Well, just like I predicted, we didn't get any Snow here yesterday or last night. All we got was rain. It started raining yesterday afternoon here and it was even raining when we got home last night. But, "THANK GOD" it wasn't cold enough to turn to ICE. The way the clouds looked yesterday around here, it looked like it could snow. I was standing at my front door yesterday afternoon waiting for the girls to come home, and I took a picture of the Sky with my Cell Phone. Here is what it looked like around 3:40p.m. yesterday afternoon around here. This was taken in front of our house looking up into the Sky. It sure felt cold enough to Snow, but we didn't get lucky enough to get any. I do think some counties to our North saw some flurries according to the 10:00p.m. News last night.
Today is "THANKFUL THURSDAY". It is hosted by Iris@http://www.eph2810.com. If you would like to participate, please go visit Iris and sign the Mr. Linky and leave her a comment. Today I am "THANKFUL" for having money to pay Bills. I know, I know, but as you all know times have been very hard on us for the past few months. But, "THANK YOU" GOD, he provided for us on Tuesday. I was able to pay the Cable & Internet Bill late Tuesday afternoon. I am also "THANKFUL" for the new job that my DH has. So far, he seems to be liking it. I am also "THANKFUL" for being able to have a steady income coming in each week. DH gets paid after every load he does. When they drop their load, they scan their bills at a Truck Stop and they are paid for it. So, we will be getting money in the Bank at least 2 times a week. I remember when it was like that before when DH and his Uncle was Team Driver's, we knew what day money was going to be in the Bank. It will be the same way this time as well. That is my today's "THANKFUL THURSDAY" post. What do you have to be "THANKFUL" for? We all have so much to be "THANKFUL" for each and everyday, not just on Thursday's, but each day we wake up. "THANK YOU" Dear GOD, for loving us so much and for providing for us. You are an Awesome GOD!!!!
"THANK YOU" all for the prayers for my Dad. I really appreciate them very much. I talked to my Mom yesterday afternoon and my Dad answered the phone and I was able to talk to him some. He did sound very week, but he said he was feeling some better. My Mom has been making sure he drinks lots of liquids and has been fixing him plenty of liquid soups to eat as well. I was thinking he had to go see his regular doctor today, but my Mom said he will go this coming Monday to his regular Doctor. He can't work any until he is seen by his Doctor. Hopefully, the infection will be cleared up or almost cleared up by Monday and he will get a good report from his Doctor. "THANK YOU" all again for your prayers.
We went to Armorel last night for our oldest daughter's Basketball Game. We beat BIC 21 to 16. Woooohoooo, GO REBELS!!!! They played a good game. Our oldest daughter got to play some and she did a great job as well. She did try to score some points, but the ball just didn't make it into the goal. But, at least she gave it her best shot. At half-time, we were like 10 points ahead of BIC. But it seemed like the last few minutes of the game, the ref's were trying to give the game to BIC. They called fouls that wasn't even fouls. Alot of us Parents did notice in the game prior to our game that the refs were having to look at the scorekeepers and wondering what was going to be next or who had the ball. Now, I'm thinking, why have a ref out there that doesn't know what is going on? I mean, gee whiz, if you don't know anything about referring, you ain't got no business being a ref. But, I guess that's how the ball bounces huh? LOL. Anyway, we ended up winning and that's what counts. We will be playing Luxora again on Friday night at 7:00p.m. at Armorel. Luxora was playing Lake City when we got over there last night. At one time, Lake City was winning the game, but Luxora came back and won by 3 points I think it was. So, our game on Friday night should be another good game. We did beat Luxora here this past Saturday, so I'm sure it's going to be a tough game to play. We didn't stop at Sonic yesterday as I thought we would, but my MIL went with us and she was running a few minutes late, so we went on to Blytheville and we stopped at the Drive-thru at Burger King and got some Burgers. It wasn't very far from Armorel from Burger King. The girls and my MIL ate on the way to Armorel and I ate my French Fries on the way, but I ate my Burger inside the Gym there at Armorel. It's hard for me to drive while trying to eat a Burger. LOL. Well, it was raining outside and I had to keep both hands on the wheel and concentrate on getting us there safely. Anyway, we had a good time and it was around 9:15p.m. when we got home last night.
Yesterday morning after I had taken the girls to School, I came back home and ate some of the Oatmeal that was left from the girl's breakfast. I was still sleepy, so I went back to bed for a while. I had my alarm to go off at 10:45a.m. so I could get DH up. They had planned on leaving around noon. Well, around 10:30a.m., as I was sleeping so good, DH said he heard someone knocking at the front door. I told him to go answer it. LOL. Most of the time I usually answer the door, but I didn't want to get up this time. LOL. It was DH's Uncle. Their Driver Manager had called DH's Uncle and wanted them to come on over to Memphis as soon as possible. They had a new truck ready for them. So, I got on up and DH got in the shower. I went up town to the Bank and got him some cash and had to go buy the local grocery store to buy us both some minutes for our Cell Phones. I came back and fixed another pot of coffee so he would have some to drink on the way. We went to pick his Uncle up and they got up to the truck around 11:15a.m. My DH called me while I was over at Armorel last night and said that they were just leaving TN. They had to wait around for the paper work on the new truck and then when they left and was down the road a piece, something happened to the truck. He got out and raised the hood and a hose of some kind had come off and it had leaked out all the Anti-Freeze from the truck as well. Anyway, the called the shop and they sent someone out and fixed the hose and put new Anti-Freeze in it. Last time I talked to DH was around 12:15a.m. this morning and he was getting close to Hannibal, MO, heading up towards Iowa. I haven't heard from him yet, but he will call me this morning before he goes to bed. I was looking at the radar before I started my post, and it looks like Iowa is getting quite a bit of Snow this morning. I sure hope it isn't bad enough to shut them down. He did say it snowed on him some in Missouri last night before he got to St. Louis, but it wasn't sticking to the ground. They are going to White Bear Lake, MN and from there to Depere, WI. They will come back to Memphis from there and come home. Hopefully, if the weather doesn't slow them down, they will be home sometime Friday.
Well, guess I'll go for now. I am about to finish my first cup of coffee. I think I will go see who has a pot ready and wants to share a cup of coffee with me. If you stop by and I'm not here, I have some coffee ready for you as well. Just help yourself. If you don't like coffee, I have some Diet Caffeine Free Soda's in the refrigerator. If that's not your thing, grab you a cup and get some Ice and Water from the refrigerator. I don't have alot to choose from, but hopefully you will find something to drink. Take care my friends and have a great day. May God Bless You and Yours.

LOVE & HUGS,

Karen,
I haven't been by here in a while! IT LOOKS LOVELY! I read your blog but from my subscription page so i miss all the pretties and all the neat things you have done.

I am glad the weather didn't turn to ice. I remember about a month or two ago when hubby went down to Kansas for a bus trip and it was the first days of that major ice storm that knocked it all out down there. NOT FUN!

I am praying for BBALL both for you all and for us!

Morning Karen,
A short note. Glad for the new truck for HD and Uncle. Great job to the girls and their win. I will post this afternoon. We as farmers get to have a free meal on a seed corn company. To get the free meal we have to drive 50 miles away. What a farmer will do for something free. (HA HA). Have a great day.

Love and Hugs,
Joyce

Karen, Karen!!! I love that photo you captured from the cell phone! Wow, so beautiful in an eerie way, huh?

I'm happy to read that your father is improving...just pray he gets a good report from he PCP!!! And I do hope your mother is taking time to breathe for herself too, I know just what it's like to have to take care of someone that is ill.....we tend to ignore our own bodies cry for a breather when all in all, it's no good to break down from exhaustion yourself. Y'know?

GO REBELS!!!!!

I love the pun on words here too today...clever girl you!!!

Continued thoughts and good vibes for your DH and uncle too!!!

Nope, no garage for me today. It's cold and damp enough in the house since the rainstorm we got yesterday. hehehehe

Hi Karen, thanks for dropping by. The brie was lovely and there's a little bit left if you'd like it!!!! Well the Rebels did well yesterday. Isn't it frustrating when you lose faith in the referee? You almost have to glue your lips shut. It's lucky that the problem with your husband's truck happened so close to home so it could be fixed easily. I bet you can't wait for him to get home.
Take care, and you're right about grateful thursday, I think we all have so much to be grateful for every day.

Thankful to hear all of your thankfuls, my friend!

Burger King...my favorite is their onion rings!!

How come every time I come by here lately I get hungry for fast food???

Diane@Diane's Place said...

I'm just hungry all the way around! I didn't really eat supper last night, just had some brownies. Junk never satisfies me for very long. I need some REAL food, LOL! I've gotta see what's in the fridge or freezer for supper tonight.

The sky looks pretty much the same here right now as it did yesterday. The temp has dropped 8 degrees in the last 30 minutes! The sun was shining for just a bit and it was 47º and now it's overcast and down to 39º. Brrr! I love the cold weather, though. I do wish it would snow!

Glad everything is working out well for your hubby and his job. That is something to be thankful for!

Glad too that your Daddy is better. Hopefully in a few more days he'll be feeling more like himself.

Gotta go dig through the fridge and freezer and make some menu plans for tonight. Hope all is well with you and yours, Karen. ;o)

Love and hugs,

Diane

Good afternoon, Karen, I hope your day is going well for you.

Boy, that picture of the sky sure looks like snow. It snowed here last night. It was really coming down, accumulating on the vehicle and on the ground, but it was gone by this morning.

The best part of snow for me is seeing it fall. So, it was snowing last night, and I couldn't see it unless I turned the porch light on.

Hi Karen,
Just have a minute to check in with you and say hello. We finally got some of that snow. I woke up this morning to around 3 inches but it's melting now and slushy. It will probably get icy tonight when it freezes.

Glad your Dad is doing better.

Go over to Lib's comment and read what is going on with me and my company. They need your prayers!

I'll be back when I can.

Love and Hugs,
Hope

It's done nothing but rain here. We're getting rather soggy in England.

Glad that your Dad is getting plenty of fluids I'm sure he'll be fine.

I'm also glad to read that you're getting your bills paid. Thank you Lord! It's wonderful that your DH has a regular wage coming in now. What a blessing.

Lots of hugs.

Dear Karen,

Well, I made it here today, even if a little late, which is usual for me. Been gone part of the day, then had to catch up with some undone chores, before I could settle down by my laptop.

Thank the Lord your Dad is doing better. And woohoo on your daughter's team winning the game!

We did get some very pretty snow last night. In fact, when I went to bed, it was all white out there, but when I got up in the morning, it was all gone. Washed away by some rain.

Love the picture of the dark clouds! That's a great shot. They sure looked like snow clouds to me.

I'm happy that things are all working out for you, financially. Praying that your DH doesn't run into some snow storms and stays safe.

I always enjoy catching up with your busy doings. Have a nice evening, and maybe we can have a cup of coffee in the morning.

Blessings,

Renie

I used to live really close to White Bear Lake, Minnesota - my dad worked for Sears there for the two years he was out of the pastorate because of his health.

Hello dearest Karen:-)

Yup, I'm still alive! lol Yesterday I had to unhook my computer and bring it all in the basement...I didn't plug it in until late last night so that's why I didn't do any visits. My computer is set up on 3 chairs right now! lol That will be its home until my computer room is all done.

I was so sorry to hear about your dad, I do pray that he recovers completely real soon! It's a shame they had to miss the funeral but their health has to come first.

Woohoo!! Great news that you were able to pay your cable bill...I would have missed you wayyyy too much if you'd been offline for a while!

I'd be more than happy to bring you some snow...we're having some again tonight! lol I had to go out to buy a couple of plastic totes and it was really starting to come down, could hardly make out the road!

I'm so happy I was able to catch up on all your news this evening...I have so many others to visit as well so I'd best be on my way! Take good care of yourself. xoxo
