SLOW COOKING & THANKFUL THURSDAY & A TAG CHALLENGE

Good Mornin' Yall,

I do hope that everyone had a great Wednesday and ready to start a new day. It is currently 29 degrees with a windchill of 20 degrees. The winds are out of the Northwest at 9 mph. It was a beautiful and Sunny day here yesterday, but the wind made it feel alot colder than it actually was. I think the high only got up to around 37 degrees. I am up way early this morning, so I know the temperature will be dropping a few more degrees before Sunrise. The high today is only suppose to be around 29 degrees. Tonight it's suppose to get down to like 17 degrees. I do think they have taken the chance of freezing rain out of the forecast on Friday or they have lowered the percentage chances. Anyway, we will probably just get some more cold rain if anything at all.

Today is SLOW COOKING THURSDAY. If you would like to join in the fun, go visit Sandra@http://familycorner.blogspot.com/ and sign the Mr. Linky and leave Sandra a comment and then post your Recipe on your page. I am going to share my Homemade Vegetable Beef Soup with you. The recipe that you share is supposed to be cooked in a Slow Cooker. So make sure you remember that if you decide to join in the fun. This recipe that I'm sharing can be cooked in a Slow Cooker. I just didn't cook mine in the Slow Cooker the other night because I didn't think about doing it. I'm used to cooking on top of the Stove most of the times. About the only thing I do cook in my Slow Cooker is a Roast. So, here goes my recipe for a Slow Cooker.
KAREN'S HOMEMADE VEGETABLE BEEF SOUP

Take 1 1/2 - 2 pounds of Ground Chuck and boil it till it gets done. After the Ground Chuck is done, drain and rinse real good. You can either wash the pot that you boiled your Ground Chuck in or use another pot and put the Ground Chuck back in the pot. Next, you cut up 1/2 Green Bell Pepper finely chopped, and a 1/2 Red Onion finely chopped. Add these 2 items into the pot with the Ground Chuck. Take 2 cans each of Whole Kernel Corn, Green Beans, and Carrots and drain and rinse these vegetables. Add all the vegetables in the pot with your other ingredients. I also add 2 each of Beef and Chicken Bouillon Cubes in there. Add Salt and Pepper to taste. Finally, I add about 3/4 of a bottle of Ruby Kist Vegetable Juice from Concentrate and pour that in the pot with everything else. You will need to add some water to this as well. It depends on how large your pot is and how thin you want your soup. Cook everything on Medium heat until it comes to a rolling boil and stirring on occasion. After it has come to a boil, I put it down on Low or Simmer and add about 1/2 bag of Elbow Macaroni Noodles. I just let it simmer until the Noodles have cooked. This goes very well with a fresh pan of Homemade Buttermilk Cornbread or just some Crackers. You can always add whatever vegetables you want to go in your soup. I usually put in some Potatoes, but I forgot to Tuesday when I was fixing it for us. The Sky is the limit as to what you want or don't want in yours. The Ruby Kist Vegetable Juice I got from our local Dollar General Store. I asked the Store Manager if they had any Tomato Juice and he said that was the only thing they had. He also said that alot of people, including him, used it in Stews and Soups. I told him I was going to put it in some Soup. It is very good. I hope you enjoy my Homemade Vegetable Beef Soup if you try it. Just be sure to let me know if you do cook it and how you liked it. Be sure to go and visit Sandra if you would like to participate.
Today is also THANKFUL THURSDAY. If you would like to participate in THANKFUL THURSDAY, go visit Iris@ http://eph2810.com/. Just sign the Mr. Linky and leave Iris a comment to let her know that you have your THANKFUL THURSDAY posted. Today, I am so THANKFUL for so many things. I am so THANKFUL that I have such dear and wonderful FRIENDS like you. You all have been so good to me and my Family while we have been going thru hard times. I know each and everyone of you has said prayers over and over for us. For that, I am THANKFUL. I am so THANKFUL for the Power of Prayer. Prayer does work. GOD answers those Prayers in HIS time and not ours. I am THANKFUL that JESUS CHRIST died on the CROSS to save me and everyone from our Sins. "THANK YOU" GOD for loving us that much and for all you do for us. AMEN!!!! I am a Sinner and I know GOD forgives me. I am THANKFUL that GOD does forgive me for my Sins. I LOVE YOU DEAR GOD AND ASK THAT YOU BLESS ALL MY DEAR BLOGGING FRIENDS AND FOR YOU WATCHING OVER ME AND MY FAMILY ALL THE TIME. "GOD IS GOOD, ALL THE TIME, GOD IS GOOD"!!!! This is just a few things I am THANKFUL for on this THANKFUL THURSDAY. What do you have to be THANKFUL for on this THANKFUL THURSDAY? If you would like to let me know what you are THANKFUL for, please feel free to leave them in your comments. And don't forget, if you want to participate, please be sure to go visit Iris.

I would like to "THANK" Brandy@ http://mommysquietspot.blogspot.com/ for giving me this Lovely Button. She is one of my new Blogging Friends that I met not too long ago and she

has been praying for me and my Family during this difficult time. "THANK YOU" so much Brandy for this Special Button. It means alot to me and I am going to keep it displayed on my Sidebar. Brandy also won Mary's Giveaway over at Mary@ http://maryswritingnook.blogspot.com/. "CONGRATULATION'S" Brandy on winning Mary's Giveaway. Just be sure to take pictures of what Mary is sending you and share it with us. This was Brandy's very first Giveaway that she won.

My DH got in yesterday morning around 12:45a.m. I was awake when he got in and I heated him up some of the soup that I had fixed for me and the girls that night. He really loved it and complimented me so much on it. That sure makes me feel good. Anyway, I went to bed around 2:00a.m. and had my alarm to go off at 4:30a.m. It went off alright, but I shut it off and said to myself that I would lay there another minute or two. Next thing I know, I just happen to wake up aroundn 6:00a.m. I had to get up and start my coffe and get the girls up at 6:30a.m. for them to eat their Breakfast and get ready for School. After I took the girls to School, I came back home and took my meds and ate me a bowl of Cereal and layed back down a little after 9:00a.m. I set my alarm to go off at 11:00a.m. so my DH could get up and get his shower and drink some coffee. I did get up in time this time. I didn't want to, but I did. My DH and his Uncle left here around noon today going to Memphis to pick up their other load and then head up to Minnesota. Hopefully if the weather co-operates, they will be back on sometime Friday morning.

Well, I guess I've done posted about enough for this Thursday. LOL. Once you get behind, it seems like it takes forever to get caught back up. I have been having to write things down about what I am going to post about. LOL. Now that is bad huh? LOL. Take care my friends and have a great day. May God Bless Each and Everyone of You.

Loved reading your meme and your Thankful Thursday. I love that encouraging message that Brandy gave you that is so thoughtful.

I was so sorry to read about the awful time you had in your bank and for all your problems I will continue to pray. You poor thing you nearly had me in tears just thinking about how hard it must have been to be treated so badly when you are struggling; they really should have sent you overdraft letters too - it doesn't sound the most organised of banks! Maybe that lady who was nasty was having a bad day and she just needs Jesus...we all need Jesus. I will pray sweet Karen.

Hugs.

G'day from Australia,

It's a country where all the blokes do the cooking (we're not too slow) and the cleaning. And if the weather's too cold for you, come on over - it's summer here!

Karen,

A wonderful Thankful list. I woke up this morning feeling terrible and forgot all about TT. That didn't make me feel any better. Maybe I will post my list later tonight. I have to pick up the boys from school today, but we won't be going to the farm. Grandma feels too miserable. LOL

Maybe some of that delicious soup you make would help me feel better. I think I will give it a try. The next time I go to the grocery store I will pick up the ingredients.

Take care, my friend. I do hope your DH makes it home for the weekend.

Love and blessings,
Mary

Hi Karen,

Just stopping in to say hello. I first saw the Titanic at the theater and I've never felt so cold in my life as I did by the time that movie was over.

You know, I'm reading the whole Little House series over again, this week (I'm at Silver Lake) right now and just reading these books again makes me want to go back and watch all the TV shows. That would be a great series to own.

Very nice list and good job on the 4 things meme.

Hello dear Karen:-)

Remember me??? lol I have a bit of spare time right now so I thought I'd visit a few friends. Now how did you get that picture of me at the top of your post??? hehe

Your soup sounds so delicious and I love that it takes ingredients that we usually have in the house so it can be put together at a moment's notice!

I so enjoyed reading your meme answers. It made me smile when I saw Canada as one of the places you'd rather be...my door is always open:-) Don't know if you'd care for the frigid temps though! lol I do know you'd love our snow:-) I've written myself a note that you've tagged me for this so I'll get at it as soon as I can!

Love the button that Brandy gave you...very touching words on it and so very true.

I put up the wallpaper border on two of the walls today...I'm really pleased with it! Tomorrow I have to paint the frame that goes around the window...I'm just so itching to get this room all finished! lol

Also missing being a regular commentator but it's the price I have to pay for redoing my computer room...sigh! Once I'm all done, I'll be hounding you all again! hehe Take care my friend and thank you for being YOU!! xoxo

Good evening, Karen,

Brr, another cold night tonight. I think we're supposed to get down to 11! Now that's too cold for me. Can you believe we'll be at 60F by Monday? I'll believe it when I feel that 60 degrees. LOL.

Enjoyed the answers to your meme. And your thankful things were so touching and lovely. It's good to be thankful for our blessings. That Lord is so good!

Well, you didn't sleep much the night before, so you made fup for a little of it this morning.

I love soup as well, and cook it often, especially in this cold weather. Hot coffee and hot soup are good remedies for cold weather. Thank you for the great recipe.

Have a peaceful evening, dear Karen with your girls. Take care and God bless you.

Hugs,

Renie

Good evening Karen. Just a quick note before I toddle off to bed. I have to be at work about 1 hour earlier than usual tomorrow and I am tired.

I loved learning more about you. Memes can be a lot of fun.

Your soup sounds delicious, I hope you made enough for company. Perhaps I will turn up on your doorstep for a bowl and a piece of corn bread.

Our weather is supposed to warm up tomorrow, yea finally out of the deep freeze and up to cold temperatures.

Take care. Talk to you tomorrow.
