Good Wednesday Mornin' Yall,
I do hope everyone had a Blessed and Wonderful Tuesday and ready to start a new day. I'm not sure I am, as I'm not feeling too well right now. It was after 2:00a.m. before I could get to sleep and my nose is trying to stop up as well.
It is 57 degrees here this morning. It finally got out of the 40's yesterday and made it up to 73 degrees at one time yesterday afternoon. The Sun even came out at times also. The fog went away and it was like a beautiful Spring Day. I came close to turning my air-conditioner on late yesterday evening, but I didn't. I think that is why I didn't sleep too good last night because it was too warm in here. I do have a fan by my bed tho and it stays on year round. Anyway, back to the weather. It finally started raining here last night around 11:00p.m. It rained pretty hard for a while. I was reading our local Meteorologist's Weather Blog late yesterday afternoon and lo and behold, you'll never guess what he was talking about. Go ahead and guess. What's that you say? Did someone mention the "S WORD". Hmmmm, could it be "SNOW"? Yeap, that's right folks. He was telling about we might, and of course you know might is a big word, see some snow late Friday night and into Saturday. The high Saturday is only suppose to be 35 degrees and the low is going down to 20 degrees. I do believe that will be cold enough to snow, but I just don't see it happening. According to the Weather Channel, they are just showing rain. But there are 2 scenario's that could happen. One of them being us having snow, and the other being us just getting rain. I would rather have the first, but I will take what we get. I have no control over the weather. I do enjoy weather tho. I don't if you could tell or not by my posting's. LOL. Maybe I should have been a Meteorologist. LOL. Nawwww, I'll just stick to what I'm doing. I enjoy that better and also, I won't have people chewing me out because we got this or didn't get that.
Hubby called me last night around 10:30p.m. to let me know he had made it to Cabool, MO. His driving time was up for the day and he was shutting down. He said it was just raining on him there at Cabool. Thank each and everyone for leaving a nice comment and saying prayers for my hubby. I really appreciate it so much. I don't know what it will be like on him this morning going up to Meta, MO. Hopefully, it won't be too bad. So, I continue to ask for Traveling Mercies for my hubby today. Also, I would like to ask everyone to continue to pray for all the people in Kansas, Missouri, and Oklahoma. It is just devastating in those places. A good blogging friend of mine, Kansas Rose, lives in Kansas and they were without power yesterday. They do have a generator tho. Last night I checked in with her and she said they didn't have any running water now. They are having to haul water. I do know that Grams hasn't lost power up in Kansas City, MO. It still is bad up there tho. Last time I heard there were 22 deaths due to the Ice. Let us keep praying for all of these people.
Last night was the girls School Christmas Program. It started at 6:30p.m. It was a short program. It only lasted 20 minutes. I didn't take any pictures because of the lighting in the gymnasium. My Sister took some pictures with her camera and hopefully, she will email me some of them. After the School Christmas Program, we all loaded up in my Sister's vehicle and went to Lepanto to the Firemen's Christmas Dinner. We were about 45 minutes late, but they still had plenty of food left and they hadn't had the drawings yet. Santa came for a short while. Our girls sat on his lap and both of them received a Sonic Gift Card. Of course now, Santa did have toys, but our girls have outgrown the Baby Dolls and smaller toys. They got the big kids stuff. After Santa left, there was some drawings. I didn't win anything. My Dad won a little Christmas Tin that has $40.00 in it. My Sister had won a gift also, but she had dropped off a gift there earlier and they gave her, her own gift she had dropped off. She gave it back and it was given to someone else. I did get to bring a live Poinsetta home with me. Actually it was given to my youngest daughter, but I will have to care for it. Now, I just need to know how to care for it so it will last. I had one back in the 80's, but I've slept since then. LOL. I would appreciate any advice I can get. We had a good time. The food was okay. They had dressing(wasn't as good as mine), green beans, corn, smoked ham(was on the tough side), gravy, rolls, and several different kinds of desserts. My Sister had also brought a Coconut Cake and Red Velvet Cake there as well. I got to bring the rest of the Red Velvet Cake home with me. There was only 1 small slice of her Coconut Cake left and she took it home with her. I think we finally made it home around 8:30p.m. I got to see some of my classmates that I had graduated High School with. That's about the only time I see them anymore is once a year.
Well, guess that's about it for this Wednesday. I can't think of anything else to talk about. Imagine that, me not being able to talk about anything. LOL. I am just now having my first cup of coffee, so I'm not really awake good yet. I'll have to have this cup plus another cup before I can really function. But since today I'm not feeling too good, I don't know if that will happen or not. Yall take care and have a great Wednesday. May God Bless You and Yours. Stay safe and warm if you are having bad weather.

Sounds like you had a really busy day. Hope your sister e mails you some pictures from last night. It's good that you could still make it to the fireman's dinner. We had our ladies group Christmas dinner last night at a restaurant near by. It was fun. Our waiter was soooo slow but we had lots of time to visit. We all live in the same neighborhood and have been getting together once a month for about 2 1/2 years. It's nice to know your neighbors.
Snow, huh? After 70 degrees. That's a big shift for you. Do you get much snow where you are?
Nan
I'm so glad your husband is safe and sound. And I'll keep praying for safe travels, never you worry.
Hope you start feeling better soon. Get ready for that snow. It might just be a white Christmas after all!
Take care honey and thanks for the compliments on my home.
Love,
Julie
Good morning, friend Karen, so glad to hear your hubby is safe and sound. Sorry you aren't feeling good. Maybe you will feel better today.
Thanks for stopping by to see the decorations. I have been TRYING to hold off posting my Christmas tree for the Christmas Home Tour...it is about the only thing I haven't posted yet...that and the almost scary sight of all 17 Christmas stocking hanging by the chimney with care!! My tree is nothing to write home about but I will post it on the 17th....
Stay nice and warm, make up some beans and your famous cornbread and get ready for the snow!
Hugs, bj
Good morning Karen,
I'm having a cup of coffee too. It's the first thing I do in the morning. We are still having springtime weather here. However, they say that we are moving into winter by this weekend too. Just a little rain here if we are lucky.
It is wonderful that time alloted for you to attend your daughter's Christmas Program and share in your father's Firemen's Christmas Dinner. I know that you will cheerish a picture of your Dad. I hope you get it real soon.
I will keep praying for hubby as he travels on the icy roads and continue to pray for all of the people suffering in this storm.
Thank you my dear one for your loving posts and comments on my blog. You are a wonderful friend...may your day be filled with lots of love and (((HUGS))!

Hi Karen...I am just getting ready to have my first cup of coffee as well...being on the WEST coast all the pther bloggers are usually up way before me!! I am glad your Hubby is safe and that you had a good time yesterday!!
Blessings,
Robin
I enjoyed visiting your blog today! In South Texas we are also having wild temp. swings day by day and it feels really strange! Today it is pouring down rain and all through the day - the temp is going to go down again.
We have a lot of ice in the southeast area of Wisconsin. Places were shut down due to that.
Well, I can tell you I've had my fill of snow. I'm ready for spring, but I do admit that, being a Wisconsite and all, it just wouldn't be Christmas without snow.
Enjoy that coffee. Glad the girls had a fun time. (I would like to win something with $40 in it. :) I hope you are feeling better.
Take care and God bless you and your family. :)
Good Morning Karen! I am out and about early for me! Sounds like you had a good time at all the things you went to. You make my mouth water with the cakes your sister made and sent home with you!! Oh Yum!!
Kelly made some candy yesterday and it is really good!! Still have power!! Praise God! Hugs Grams
Loved your comment about how the weather people said it "might" snow. Made me think of what my Mom said about the weather reports she would hear. She said "supposed to, supposed to, I get so tired of hearing supposed to - they don't know what it's going to do." Mom's been going almost nine years, but she still lives with us in spirit as my hubby and I repeat what she said every so often.
Glad your hubby is safe. You're up early to not have gotten much sleep last night.
Have a good day.
Dear sweet Karen, it's always a pleasure to come by to say hi to you.
Christmas is tenderness for the past, courage for the present, hope for the future. It is a fervent wish that every cup may overflow with blessings rich and eternal, and that every path may lead to peace…
Enjoy the Season

Iam sorry I haven't had time to come over and visit personally. But I wanted to answer your question and make another personal comment,
Don't feel bad about not knowing that was papaya. We had it every day from our hostess 10 years ago when we were here and I didn't like it. This time I ate it and liked it (I squirt the lime juice from that little slice on it and it tastes tangier). It's kind of a bland taste, but nice. I looked it up on the internet because I thought it was mango. As I said, there are so many different varieties it's amazing.
The time here is 4 hours earlier than you. So when I wrote last night, it was about 7:30 here, and it would have been 11:30 your time. Right now it's 6:30 in the morning, so you're almost getting ready for lunchtime.
We're getting ready to head out for a wagon ride into a deep valley, so of course we'll take lots of pictures. This has been so much fun to share with everyone.
Sounds like one fabulous time had. The program the dinner and the prizes! Yes, indeedy, that's a great night. As with the poinsettias well....don't ask me. I've tried and tried to get them to grow for me outside in the ground. I see 'em all over here in the south...but me? Uh-huh...no way. Guess it may have a lot to do with the brown thumb I have when it comes to experimenting with plants. LOL
Good morning Karen! I'm sorry to hear you aren't feeling well today sweetie, and I will be keeping your husband in my prayers while he travels. I hope you are able to have some rest today and feel better really soon.
Amanda (aka Cottage Contessa)
Hi Karen,
I've had my POT of coffee today so I'm able half ready to function!! lol
So glad your hubby had a safe trip. Continuing to pray for his safe return home.
Sounds like ya'll had fun last night. I just hate that everybody won something but you!! At least you got the consolation prize..Poinsetta!!
Take care and come see me!
Hugs,
Hope
Hi, I'm glad you had a great time at the dinner. Hope you sleep good tonight.
Karen... Sorry you're not feeling well. I am still not well either. This cold has been really bad. I'm glad you got to do everything you wanted to do for the weekend. It is raining again now. So dreary... We will see about the snow.. we rarely get real snow anymore.... I just hope it's not ice... I'm glad the girls did good.. All of us sisters sing but here lately, we've all been sick... Hope your husband is safe.. Have a good day.. feel better... Hugs to you, Cecil
Hi Karen,
I hope you feel better! And I also hope that your husband made it to Meta and back safely. Hmm, wonder where that is?
Sounds like you had a nice evening of socializing and eating at the Firemen's Christmas Dinner. I always enjoy all the Christmas shindigs around this time of the year.
Hush on the "snow" word! Lol. Yep, they say it's coming, but I'm still hoping they're wrong. We'll see Saturday morning, I guess. I'll have my camera ready for snow pictures. Might as well take some, if it's out there, even though I'd rather not have it out there! Lol. That sentence doesn't sound right, does it?
Hope you have a nice, restful evening, and feel all well by morning.
Blessings and Hugs,
Renie
Get some rest, Karen. Hope you're feeling better by the time hubby gets home. Mine's a truck driver too, and I know I don't sleep as well when he's gone too long.
Dear Karen, want me to bring you some snow?? lol We're supposed to be getting more in the next couple of days! I told BJ I'm gonna pick her up and go to your place for some of your cornbread! hehe Don't you just wish it was that easy?
Glad to hear your hubby arrived safely in MO. Being on the road all the time like that, it must really be worrisome, especially in the winter time. That is indeed very sad that the ice storm has caused so many deaths...my prayers are with them all!!
Glad to hear the girls' Christmas Program went well and that you were still able to go to the Firemen's Christmas Dinner. I'm afraid I can't tell you how to take care of a Poinsettia...I tend to kill all the ones I've ever had! LOL That's one plant I just can't seem to grow!
I was gone shopping with my mom today and we had a lovely lunch out as well...will mention it on my post tomorrow:-) I didn't post this morning, just didn't have time, I was running late from sleeping in! lol I didn't sleep well either last night...ugh. I do hope you feel better by now!!
Lots of love! xoxo
Hi Karen,
Sounds like you had a fun time with the school play and the dinner and all...
Like it "might" snow, our weather people are telling us it "might" rain... I hope we get something wet..LOL
Our Govenor MIKE EASLEY is telling us he can take a shower in 26 seconds. He wants us to conserve water. It takes me longer than that... LOL
Hope you feel better and your husband has a safe trip. ~Ann
Well I do hope you are feeling better dear. It's awful to be feeling bad anytime, but during the busy Christmas season it;s twice as bad.
We are getting a little rain here tonight. I am very thankful it isn't that 'white stuff!' We've had that twice now and that's sure enough for a while.
Take care Karen. God Bless you and your's
