WEDNESDAY MID-WEEK

Good Wednesday Mornin' Yall,

I do hope everyone had a great Tuesday. It is half-way thru the week not. The weekend is almost here. It is 42 degrees with a windchill of 38 degrees here this morning. Our local weather man said last night that our temperatures are going to be like a rollercoaster this week. It is suppose to be around 57 degrees here today. Tonight it's suppose to get down to 28 degrees. The high tomorrow will only be 45 degrees. Then Friday, back into the 50's. On Sunday it is suppose to get up to 70 degrees. There is a slight chance of rain the next few days with higher percentages on Monday of next week. Right now my heat is still on, but who knows, the air-conditioner may come on by the weekend. LOL. Arkansas weather is very hard to predict this time of year. I have seen where some of my blogging friends have snow. Why can't we have snow? Will any of yall share your snow with me? LOL. I so want to make some snow cream. My girls just love snow cream as I do also. Well, so much for the weather. We take what we get.

Well, nothing much has been happening around here lately. Hubby got home around 6:45p.m. last night. Me and the girls had already had supper. I fixed some Steak & Cheese Quesadillas and some French Fries for our supper last night. No, it wasn't homemade. LOL. They were the frozen kind and it was quick and easy. Those Quesadillas sure was good to be frozen. I think tonight we are having some frozen pizza's and then I'm thinking tomorrow night about cooking some white beans with cornbread of course. I may cook some pork chops to go with them. I may even fix some homemade creamed potatoes. It just depends on if my oldest daughter has a basketball game tomorrow night. I finished up the rest of the beef roast with vegetables yesterday for my lunch. I figured since we had had a good meal the last few days, frozen foods wouldn't hurt anyone. LOL.

This Saturday night our town is having their annual Christmas Parade. Both of our girls are going to be in the parade on a float from our Church. Then after the Parade, we will go to our Church for the girls Christmas Play. My oldest daughter is going to be singing a solo in the play. After the play, we are having our annual Christmas Dinner. So, our Saturday is going to be a fun-filled evening. It is going to be in the 60's on Saturday, so it won't feel much like Christmas. Then on Tuesday of next week we have 2 things to go to, but we will only get to do one of them. My Father is a Retired Fireman and every year they have a Firemen and Retired Firemen's Christmas Dinner for all of them and their families. We always go to that. But this year, our girls Christmas Play at school is going to be on Tuesday night as well. So, that makes the School Christmas Play top priority. They both start at 6:30p.m. Maybe the School Christmas Play won't last very long( it usually last's about 30 minutes) and then we can drive to the Firemen's Christmas Dinner. We will have to wait and see. I always love going to the Firemen's Christmas Dinner. Always alot of good food and fellowship. I get to see people I haven't seen in a year or so. They Firemen always give the Retired Firemen a good ham. You know the one with the bone in it. MMMM, yeap, my Dad always has it sliced and gives some to my family and my Sister. I still have a few slices in the freezer from last year's ham. I love cutting it up and putting it in some white beans. Are you hungry yet? LOL. I am. LOL. Of course, homemade cornbread goes very good with a pot of white beans and ham. Okay, Okay, I will quit for now. I don't want you slobbering on your keyboards. LOL.

I was watching Food Network again last night. They had Rachel Ray, Giada (can't spell her last name LOL) and Mario (can't spell his last name either LOL). They were old shows but they were still good to watch. It was a Holiday special. The food they had on there sure made me hungry. I had to get me a snack of, get this, Golden Crisp. LOL. But hey, it filled up a hungry spot. LOL. I just love to watch Food Network. I know many of yall like it as well. I love watching Paula Deen, Rachel Ray, Bobby Flay, Tyler Florence, oh heck, I like to watch them all. LOL.

Well, I think I will go for now. I have done enough teasing with the food stuff. I don't want yall to get mad at me. LOL. Yall take care and have a Blessed Wednesday. May God Bless You and Your. If you have snow where you are, enjoy it. Make some snow cream. Eat some for me PLEASE. LOL. No seriously tho, yall stay warm and be safe if you have to be out in it.

LOVE & HUGS,

Hi Karen,
Thanks for coming by so faithfully to check on me!
I'm just fine and will return when
the time is right for me..(I did a very brief little post today)
I've so missed reading your nice newsy posts.
We enjoy the Food Network too. They all seem to have their own unique style don't they?
How proud you must be that your daughter is singing a solo. Perhaps you can make a video and share it..
There's nothing like the sweet sound of children's voices singing lovely Christmas carols.
((hugs))

Bay doesn't do a parade. The last (and only) Christmas parade I went to was in 1987 when Jessica was a newborn. Good grief, it was cold and windy! Terry Wood was the grand marshal that year.

I've been to Jonesboro to Walmart for a few gifts this morning, then Jessica picked me and Lamar up and took us to Lepanto for Lamar's appointment with the dentist at the health clinic there. I got to play with Emmy for a little while before she got sleepy.

I'm still congested but doing just a tiny bit better. I finally broke down and used some prescription nasal spray last night and managed to sleep about 4 hours in my bed. Yay! I've been having to sleep sitting up in my recliner, what little sleep I got, that is.

I've got church tonight so I won't be posting until I get home or it may be tomorrow afternoon. I've got an appointment for my eye exam in the morning at Jonesboro, then I'm doing my grocery shopping. Another busy day tomorrow.

Have a good evening, Karen. ;o)

Love and hugs,

Diane

Oh how I wish I could eat the pre-prepared food you'd find in the freezer....but I can't. The sodium content is just way too high! I have a limit on the salt content in foods, and boy sometimes, I crave a WHOLE can of spaghetti-os all for myself!!

:::drooling:::

I like to watch Paula Deen on Food Network.

My Aunt in West Virginia said she got out on the porch and got enough snow to make herself some snow cream today. Said they got 4-5 inches of snow.

Karen,

A Christmas parade? How much fun! It's a good thing that you don't have a lot of snow; snow would make that parade a real mess!

So glad you're hubby is home....and you are enjoying the countdown to Christmas. It will be here for before we know it!

Blessings!

Hi Karen,

Well, I'm posting on Wednesdays post on Thursday evening. What a chilly day today was. Winter hasn't even begun yet, and I'm tired of the cold weather.

I'll read tomorrow what good things you all had to eat today. Lol. I always get hungry after I read your blog. Lol. I found this recipe for cabbage latke's that sounded so good, that I have to try them.

Hope you're having a great Thursday evening with your family. Take care and stay warm.

Blessings and Hugs,

Renie

How about if I rent a truck, load it with snow and deliver it to you personally?? hehe It will certainly be a white Christmas here but then it's very rare we DON'T have a white Christmas!

Karen, you must make a post about "snow cream"...what, pray tell, is snow cream???? It's something I've never heard about...and here I am with all this snow! lol

I love to cook and bake and yet I've never watched a cooking show in my life...only love to buy the cooking magazines, that's how I get my recipes and ideas:-) I know, I'm weird! lol We do have the Food Network but I never have the tv on that channel!!

Sounds like a fun Saturday coming up...make sure you take lots of pictures of the Christmas play!! I've no doubt you will be so proud of your girls up there on the stage:-) The Retired Firemen Dinner also sounds like a wonderful time, hope you'll be able to go to at least part of it. I love ham too:-)

Sending you BIG hugs across the miles to make you feel better...you mentioned feeling a bit down. That's when I wish I lived nearer, to help cheer you up:-) xoxox

Hey Karen.. Yes it is COLD!! And I was freezing last night... that wind would cut right through you.. But I did say I wished it would turn cold and stay that way.. that maybe it would kill some of the junk in the air .. because everyone is getting sick... I think that if I was a germ right now that I'd be gone! :) ... I like white beans and ham, too. A friend of mine swears by my white beans... a compliment indeed because she is a great cook herself.. but I don't do anything special.. I cook mine like everyone else does.. but anyways.. I hope you have a good week and that the girls have a great time this weekend... Talk to you later.. Cecil

Hi Karen,

I sent the snow your way. Hope it doesn't melt by the time it gets to Arkansas. ;) I never heard of snow cream.

Hope the girls have a good ball game.

Take care and God bless.

Karen, Thank you for your kind comments to me. I just felt like I needed to be honest about why I blog. And thank you for praying for my little Snow Pea...we're about to leave for the vet. right now and she doesn't know why she can't have breakfast, bless her heart. They might need to sedate her and she can't have a full tummy.
I love the Food Network, too, although some of "stars" get on my nerves. I do get some good ideas from them, though. This morning I whipped up something really fancy for my breakfast - oatmeal! It may not make it into anyone's cookbook but it suits me and Sam just fine and sticks to our ribs on these cold mornings!
Have a wonderful day, Karen.

Hi, I'm new at blogging. Probably been blogging for about a month now and just love it.

I can relate to how you feel about not blogging any more. It gets discouraging when you make new post after new posts and no one seems to notice or if they do they don't take the time to leave a comment. Maybe it's because I've been blogging such a short period of time and my blogs are not that interesting. Hopefully I will get better at it as time goes on.
