THANKFUL THURSDAY

Good Thursday Mornin' Yall. I do hope that everyone had a great Wednesday and ready to start a new day. I am late in posting this morning, but I didn't have to get the girls up for school, so I didn't have to set the alarm for that. It will be that way for the next couple of weeks. It is 48 degrees with a windchill of 46 degrees. It is raining here this morning and we have thunder and lightening as well. It is suppose to be raining all day. I hope it quits before tonight because I have to go to a Basketball game.
First of all, I want to "THANK" Lib at Lib's Private Paradise for awarding me with the "I Love Your Blog Award" yesterday afternoon. "THANK YOU" so much Lib. You are a real sweetheart. If you have never been over to visit Lib, please do go over and pay her a visit. She is another Southern Woman from Tennessee. She will have a cup of coffee or cup of tea and even a cup of hot cocoa waiting for you. I promise you, you will feel right at home at her place. She is a very crafty person as well. I am so honored that she chose me to have this award. I haven't known Lib very long, but I feel as if I've known her for years. "THANK YOU" again Lib for this wonderful award. If you turn your head sideways, it will look like a heart. Someone sure came up with a great idea for this award.
Well, today is "Thankful Thursday" again. It seems like it was just yesterday that I was posting a "Thankful Thursday". Time sure does fly by. Well, today I am "Thankful" for each and everyone of you. You are all truly such wonderful friends and have given me lots of encouragement when I was down, and said countless prayers for me and my family. I am also "Thankful" for the Power of Prayer. I know what Prayer can do. I had a Prayer answered on Monday, and I'm so "Thankful" that I have friends like you who took the time to comment and prayed for my hubby's job hunt. I know, I talked about this on Tuesday, but it fits in with today's post also. I am also "Thankful" for our Dear Savior who died on the Cross to save us from our sins. I am "Thankful" I am here to Celebrate our Dear Savior's Birth in just a few days. I have so many things to be "Thankful" for everyday, but these are just a few I am sharing for today. I could sit here and almost write a book on everything I'm "Thankful" for, but don't worry, I won't do that today. LOL. No seriously, we all have so many things to be "Thankful" for each and every day. But, I wanted to share these "Thankful" things with you. And since I am so "Thankful" for each and everyone of you, I would love to pass the above "I Love Your Blog Award" on to all of my blogging friends. Please, feel free to take it and put it on your sidebar. "CONGRATULATIONS" to each and everyone of you for receiving this award. I love everyone's blog and enjoy visiting you.
My daughter has another Basketball game tonight. It will be in Leachville, AR. Leachville and Monette, AR are consolidated. They have a gym at both places and they switch out every year where a game is played. My daughter's Basketball Coach's wife called me last night and told me it was going to be played in Leachville tonight. It's not that far from here either. Now if you will remember, I posted about them playing BIC a few weeks back when we played them here at home. Well, we have to be up in there neck of the woods tonight, and I know it is going to be a good game. It's going to be one of those "on the edge" kind of games. I just hope they have learned their lesson and won't be doing any hitting around on our girls tonight. The sad thing about that night when those girls were kicking and hitting on our girls, the Parents was standing up and cheering it on. Now that is down right wrong. This isn't no Professional Basketball Game for pete's sake, they are just girls in the 6th grade. I know I get excited and yell out sometimes at some of the games, but I am there to "Cheer" my daughter's team on. I enjoy it very much. But you can bet your botton dollar that I will tell all about it on tomorrow's post.
I would like to "THANK" Anni at Hootin' Anni for giving me the "Hootin' Anni's Holiday Award". I had seen where alot of my friends had this on their blog as well. Last night when I was visiting Anni, I asked her if I could have it as well. I seen where she left me a comment letting me know that I could have it, but I had better come get it and run. "THANK YOU" so much Anni for this Award. I appreciate it so very much. I haven't know Anni very long, but in the short time I have known her, she is a sweetheart also. If you have never been to visit Anni, PLEASE be sure to go and visit her. Trust me, you won't regret it. She is such a Hoot. You will leave there laughing so hard sometimes that you will be crying. I love that about Anni and I so enjoy going to visit her. "THANKS" again Anni for this button. I really appreciate it and you so much.
Last night for mine and the girls supper, I just heated up some burrito's that were already made and heated us up some tater tots. The girls love those kind of burritos. I guess we will finish up the Taco's sometime today. I think they are suppose to stay all night with my Parents again tomorrow night. Hubby and me have got to go finish buying a few more gifts for the girls. I have no idea what to get them because my Parents and my Sister has already bought them just about everything they want. I do have a couple of things in mind to get them tho. I sure am dreading going out in the stores. And yes, as bad as I hate Wal-Mart, I am going to have to go there. I can't afford to go to the Mall and buy them things from there, so I have to go to Wal-Mart instead. I won't get started on going to Wal-Mart, that is a whole new story in itself, but I think all of you know how I despise it. I will just have to bite my tongue and just do it. I may have to wear my bathing suit as it is always too warm in there for me. LOL. No, I'm just kidding.
Well, I guess I'll go for now. I think I am going to go visit and see who I can have coffee with this morning. I am about half-way thru with my first cup and fixing to need a refill. Before I leave, what do you have to be "Thankful" for on this "THANKFUL THURSDAY"? If you want to share with me in the comment section, you know that I am always greatful to hear what you have to say. Take care my friends and have a "THANKFUL THURSDAY". May God Bless Each and Everyone of You.

LOVE & HUGS,

But, but........Wal Mart is so convenient, it's like gas stations---one on each corner. rofl

Besides, I don't understand paying a whole lot of money on kids' gifts at the mall, especially if it's clothes. They out grow them so quickly it's like burning money.

Burritos....tater tots. Got leftovers? I'm there!!!

Have a wonderful day Karen. I'm off to visit your friend from Tennessee now.

:o)

Thanks for the award too. You're such a dear.

Yay - I'm your first commenter today, Karen! I guess we're both up early, huh? My Sam just left for work and I'm off today (woohoo!) so I'm visiting and waiting for the fog to burn off. It's freezing as well, so it's made the roads slippery in some areas so I'll wait a bit before heading out. I don't have too much left to accomplish for Christmas but I want to get it all done today so I can just enjoy my time with younger son this weekend. I have missed him so much.
I didn't have coffee with you, Karen, but I did enjoy a bowl of Cheerios just now! I'm not much of a coffee drinker but if it's cold and I'm really hungry, it hits the spot. I've got to work on my to-do list and get going soon. By the way, the babies are still holding their own. They have put them together in a little bed but will have to stay in the hospital a few more weeks. The goal is for them to drink 8 bottles a day but they can only take about 2 each and the rest of their feedings is through a tube, which just kills us all but they are being nourished and that's what is important. I can't wait to see my little darlings this Saturday. I hope they remember my voice.
You have a wonderful day, Karen and enjoy the game! God bless you and your family.

I've got to make a trip to the dreaded Walmart today too, Karen. I need a few last minute food items or I sure wouldn't venture out in this sloppy cold weather, and especially to Walmonster, LOL! ;o)

I'm thankful that I'm feeling MUCH better, praise the Lord! And so many other things, but I don't want to monopolize your comments.

I'm having my coffee too, but no breakfast just yet. My tummy isn't sure if it would be welcome. Maybe later....

Hope it's a good, fair game tonight, and y'all be careful driving.

Merry Christmas from us'uns to you'uns, LOL! ;o)

Love and hugs,

Diane

Mornin' Karen,
Didn't we just have a cup of coffee over at Lib's place?? :)
Ok, you've really done it to me this morning. You gave me one of those mental images I talked about on my blog yesterday. I can see the headlines now: "Hot Mama from Arkansas goes shopping at Walmart in the dead of winter in a bathing suit!!!! She has been taken into custody and the judge has ordered a mental evaluation!!" LOL LOL
You are so funny! I usually strip my coat off first thing when I walk in the door at Walmart! I think a lot of that heat is from my blood pressure!! I hate shopping there!!
And don't get me started on kid's sports. They should be learning good sportsmanship and enjoy playing the game for fun. The coaches (and some parents too) try to push these kids like they're professionals!! Very few kids make it to the professional level so they need to lighten up!
Okay, I didn't mean to write a blog post on your comment page!! lol
Have a great day and enjoy the game tonight. (Just don't get into a fight or anything!! lol)
Hugs,
Hope

Good mornin' to you, friend Karen,
I just LOVE coming to your house while I am having my coffee! You are so much fun to talk with and listen to. I love that you describe your weather, what you had for dinner, your girls ball games. Makes me feel like I'm sittin' at your table, with you!
Hope the game is a good one tonight....and that the rain stop while you are out.
We always wish it would rain out here in West Texas. We stay pretty dry most of the time. It is cold this morning...30 degrees and I HAVE to get out in it sometime today. Will wait until it warms up, tho. I am such a sissy!!
love, bj

Karen,

Yes, we have many things to be thankful for. I'm so glad our prayers for hubby's job was answered. I will post my Thankful Thursday later.

I seldom go to Wal Mart or any other store like it. I absolutely dread it. I am an old fashioned girl who was brought up on Kresge's and the Metropolitan and Woolworths. Those are my kind of stores. Too bad they no longer exist. I did love Eatons and it too is gone. Those stores had personalized service and courteous staff. I sure miss that.

Thanks so much for the lovely award. I will put it on my sidebar.

Merry Christmas to you and yours. May abundant blessings come your way in 2008.

Blessings,
Mary

Good morning Karen,

Thank you for my awards....you are such a sweet dear friend. I so love to stop in and visit with you.

I am thankful too Karen for all of my blogging friends and for my savior and what he means in my life.

Good look with your shopping...it is really wild around here at Wal*Mart.

I hope that the girls have a better game this evening. What is happening to sportsmanship? Its one thing with the players....but the parents what kind of example are they sitting for their children?
May the game run smoothly this evening and I pray that the girl's team wins!

Hi Karen
Thank you for visiting and saying that there's an award. This will sound so dumb, but I've never had an award before, and I don't know how to pick one up, and I even couldn't find it.
As for Thankful Thursday, I'm really thankful today because my older brother and his family arrived from Australia to spend Christmas here and we hadn't seen them for three years.

Good morning sweetie! Congratulations on your awards! Good luck with your shopping adventure to Wal-mart, I hate how hectic those places get at this time of year too! You know what, we don't have a Wal-mart over here, but we have something very similar called "Big W". I thought I'd finished all my shopping, but have to run back for that last impotant forgotten item! ARGH! lol Have a terrific day Karen!

Hello dear Karen,

It's 17F here right now...a heatwave compared to what we'd been having! lol They're actually forecasting rain in a few days so I hope we don't lose all our snow for Christmas!! In my 50 years, I only remember two Christmases that we had no snow...I didn't like that too much! lol

Congratulations on the award, dear friend and thank you so much for passing it on to all of us...any award means a lot when it comes from YOU:-)

We have so much to be thankful for and sometimes we don't take the time to really appreciate what we DO have. Thank you for the reminder:-) I also feel so thankful to have such a friend as you in my life!!

The very best of luck to your daughter and her team at their game tonight! I know what you mean about it being terrible when parents cheer their son/daughter being just downright mean to other players! No reason for that at all!!

Isn't Anni just such a precious friend:-) I love her to bits and when I was reading her Thursday 13 a short while ago, I had tears running down my cheeks from laughing so much!! hehe

I so relate to you about WalMart...I was in there the other day and my jaw practically dropped at the rudeness of some people! My goodness, people, it's Christmas time, of course the stores will be busy so expect long line ups!! That's what I wanted to yell out to everyone! lol

Have a simply marvelous day:-) Love ya! xoxox

Thank you so much Karen. I love the button.

I am so thankful that I started blogging, I have met the nicest people.

I am refusing to go to Walmart anymore before Christmas. Ours is just a mad house. My loving husband said "Lets go to Walmart at 3 am, just to see what's happening." I think I gave him the look, cause he started to laugh so hard I thought he would fall off his chair.

Have a wonderful day. Talk to you again soon.

LOL...I was just getting ready to shut things down for a while, and I saw your funny comment.

I can't believe you opened that email. It could well have had a virus in it.

But from what I'm reading, the account you have is in trouble [with the Finacial Group, Banamex] It's not been closed, etc. etc. etc. With problems and mistakes. And deposits not made correctly, things like that!

Beware Karen of opening those kinds of emails and not deleting them....viruses attach to those spam emails.

That was fun. I may get to speaking Spanish all over again. rofl

Hi Karen,

Congratulations on your new awards.

I love your Thankful Thursday post. I have so much to be thankful for as well. Your post makes me stop and think of all my blessings.

Well, all my Christmas shopping is done, thank goodness. And the weather has been fairly good, if one doesn't mind a bunch of rain. They say we'll be in the low 60s for the next couple of days, and that's not bad for the later part of December.

I hope you and your family are having a lovely evening. God bless!

Love and Hugs,

Renie

There's not a thing wrong with Wal Mart clothes (except for the one here and I reckon they think every boy wants to look like they're in a gang or something, their boy's clothes are horrible!) I can't figure out why folks pay those high prices for children's clothes, I guess it's for the label, but forget a label when a kid's going through 3 sizes in a year's time!

Hope your Thursday was a good un!
