THANKFUL THURSDAY

Good Thursday Mornin' Yall,

I do hope everyone had a Blessed Wednesday and ready to start a new day. I am feeling some better this morning and finally got a good night's rest last night. It is 41 degrees here this morning with a windchill of 39 degrees. There may be a few showers lingering around, but they are suppose to move East this morning and then clearing this afternoon. It's still going to be chilly tho. Clouds start moving back in tomorrow afternoon and Friday night. According to our local weather guy, we will be getting a rain/snow mix here in our area. Now points North of Jonesboro, AR will be getting the snow. Then, further South of here, it's just going to be rain. Who knows, we will just have to stay tuned for the next episode of "Karen's Weather". LOL. Seriously tho, I don't think we will get much of anything but rain around my area. There could be a snowflake or two mixed in, but I do think the worse will be up close to the Arkanas/Missouri border.

Today is "THANKFUL THURSDAY". I have something to be very Thankful for. As many of you know that when hubby left out on Tuesday morning, he had to go down to South Arkansas and pick up a load and then take it to Meta, MO. Well, "PRAISE GOD" he made it there safe and sound. From Meta he had to go up to Mexico, MO and pick up another load. "PRAISE GOD" he made it up there just fine. He did tell me that he saw lots of trees with the Ice on them, but the roads were in good shape. He said the roads had been salted/sanded good on the roads. I "PRAISE GOD" for that. GOD IS GOOD, ALL THE TIME, GOD IS GOOD!!!! I am also Thankful for all my blogging friends that I have met since I have been blogging. I am also Thankful for some of my blogging friends that survived the Ice Storm. Some didn't lose electricity, but some did. The ones that did lose electricity, made it thru the storm without losing any lives. "PRAISE GOD" again. I am Thankful for our Wonderful Savior who died on the Cross to save us from our sins. I am also Thankful for our Freedom we have here in the USA. I just have so much to be Thankful for that I could go on and on, but I'm sure you get the general picture. Just waking up each day and taking that first breath is something to be Thankful for. What do have to be Thankful for? Please feel free to share in the comments if you want to. I do enjoy hearing about everyone.

Yesterday, Karla's Cottage was hosting a "What do you love about your Holiday Home"? I didn't participate, but several of my blogging friends did. My friends that did participate showed some beautiful pictures of their homes all decorated. I seen some beautiful homes and decorations. Everyone seemed to be having a good time. I really enjoyed it. Don't forget about BooMama's Christmas Tour of Homes on the 17th of December. I had planned on participating in this, but I am not if I will be able to or not. The only camera I have is on my cell phone. It doesn't take the best of pictures as some of you have seen. Also, my cell phone is one of the Pre-Paid Cell Phones. I have to buy minutes for it. Since hubby will be out of a job soon, I am going to really have to watch my spending. So, I am having to save my minutes on my phone. I may try and post a few pictures, but not a whole lot. We will have to see. I was really looking forward to it, but hey, I have to do what I have to do to get by. I do hope that everyone understands.

We still need to remember everyone that was affected by the Ice Storm last weekend. They have said that millions of people are still without electricity. They said it could be up to 10 days or longer before electricity is restored. They are telling people to go stay in shelters where they have electricity so they can stay warm. From what I hear, they may be getting some snow as well this weekend. My blogging friend, Kansas Rose, lives in Kansas and she had some pictures on her blog this week from what damage she had at her home there in Kansas. It was just so sad. Last account I heard 24 people had lost their lives from the Ice Storm. We need to continue to pray and lift everyone up during this time. I know I can count on all of yall for your prayers.

Well, I hope you enjoyed my "THANKFUL THURSDAY". I am having my morning coffee and think I will go visit and see whose up and wants to have coffee with me. Yall take care and have a great Thursday. May God Bless You and Yours.

Good morning friend, Karen,
I thank you for stopping by my place this morning. I hope you took one of those muffins that I had already buttered!!
Glad all is well in your world and that you are staying warm.
Yes, I, too, am looking forward to the 17th. We've already seen so many pretty Christmas decorations, it makes you wonder if there will be many more....but, I'll bet there will. I do wish you had a camera but I love how you describe things with your words so I enjoy your blog so much! (did you make cornbread last night? You know, you can add lemon juice or vinegar to your milk and make the buttermilk taste...I am going to make some tonight! Will let u know how it turns out.)
Happy day and God bless,
bj

Oh, I'm so glad your husband got there safe and sound. That ice is nasty stuff.
Please try to participate on the Christmas Open house. Can you buy one of those disposable cameras for this event?
I hope you enjoyed my cookies and milk this morning. Was it a brownie pizza that you wanted? I'll whip one up.
Have a good one.

Karen-I hope things turn around for you financially. The main thing is that you have a roof over your head, food in the house, and love of family. If you have all that, then you are the richest person in the world. Your blog keeps me grounded and realize that even small things are really something to be thankful for. :)

I'm not a coffee drinker, but I will be more than happy to sit with you this fine Thursday and chat a bit with you.......

I'm really happy to hear that your hubby had safe travelings through the ice and storms. It's always good to know that the ones we love are safe and sound, even if they're not by our sides at times.

And Karen, I totally TOTALLY understand you wanting to save your minutes on your cell phone for 'talking'....who knows just what may be around the corner. It's always better safe than sorry. Perhaps if you can't right now, in later months you can come back and share your home's decor at the time given....I know I would enjoy it.

Christmas is in the heart...not how we decorate...so, if you're happy in March and want to show us what small wonders you have to share...so be it! I'll be here with you ---with bells on!!

Have a grand day dear bloggin' buddy!!!

EXCUSE ME....but, I think I just saw you sneaking out of my house with....muffins. Yep...there's butter that's dripped onto the floor. Awh, shoot....you didn't have to sneak away. I would have fixed you a cup of tea or coffee and we could have eaten every single one of those muffins!

Hello Karen,
Sorry I missed coffee with you this morning. My neighbor came over to visit and had coffe with me so that was good. She lives alone and gets lonely.
If you lived closer to me I wouldn't have to watch the weather report on tv all the time. I'd just tune in to Karen's Weather every morning to know what was going on!! lol
I too have much to be thankful for, especially at this season. First, Jesus, Who died for me, my husband who changed my life in so many ways, my wonderful children and grandchildren, all my family and friends, and last but certainly not least...all my new Bloggy Friends like you!!
Thanks for sharing your thoughts!
Hugs,
Hope

I am so glad that you're enjoying our trip with us so much. Yes, that was me, not looking my very best! We had been on the ocean that day while my hubby snorkeled with others and I stayed in the rubber boat. That rather large black thing on my head kept me from getting burned on my face. So then my hair looked so terrible is that I had to leave it on the rest of the day!

So - the lei is made of plumeria. Amazingly wonderful aroma. I am allergic to perfume, but this scent doesn't giv e me a headache, where some other flowers do. $3.00 is an amazing price - at the airport they were making them and asking $9.00. At the Farmer's Market they were $5 or $7. So, yes, that's a VERY good price. And that they only went up $1.00 since ten years ago is equally amazing.

Have a wonderful day - and don't stop asking what you want to know!

Hi, Karen. It's a little after noon, but I'm still drinking my coffee. Have another cup with me, LOL! ;o)

Cecil has this week off for vacation so she and Sue will be here in a little while to spend the afternoon with me. I think I'm going to make another batch of fudge, some glazed pecans and maybe some homemade dog bones for my vet friend. She gives them to her veterinarian friends for Christmas. I'm not sure what all I'll get into this afternoon.

I'm like you - I don't think we'll get much in the way of snow either. I think most or all of it will go North of us.

Glad you're feeling better. Have a good day, my friend! ;o)

Love and hugs,

Diane

Hi Karen!
As always, I enjoyed your post this morning. We all have so much to be thankful for, don't we? I'm sure you know I am especially grateful for my two granddaughters and can't wait to go back and hold them. We may get snow this weekend in my neck of the woods and I hope that doesn't keep us from being able to travel. It's about a 2 hr. drive to visit my children.
I'm praying for your situation as your husband looks for a job. God does everything perfectly and I'm sure He has great plans for y'all that you don't even know about.
Talk to you later, Karen!

I'm so happy to hear that your husband is safe and sound! I'm sorry to hear about all those poor families effected by the ice storms. I can't even imagine what that must be like, but it would be devestating. I will certainly be praying for them, and for your family too sweetie.

Hi Karen!
Great Thankful Thursday post, I'm glad you are feeling better!

I saw your comment about Show and Tell. There is a new Mr. Linky posted each week, so if you signed it a while back, it won't show up on last weeks list. I'm not sure how long ago you participated, but here is a link to the newer guidelines:

I hope you are able to join in the fun tomorrow!

Karen,

I'm so glad that our prayers were answered and your husband is safe and sound. The life of a trucker is a hard one and just as much so for his family.

There's so much to be thankful for, isn't there. Friends, loved ones, health and so much more. I truly enjoyed your post. Thanks so much for sharing.

Blessings,
Mary

Oh yes indeed God is Good! I'm so happy for you that your husband made his run and is now home safe and sound. An Angel dropped into my mailbox and blessed us today. It's amazing how God sends them to us when we need them most.
