MONDAY MEANDERINGS

Good Monday Mornin' Yall,

Well, I'm back after having a very busy weekend. I know some of you probably thought I fell off the face of the earth, and some of you wish I had, but I didn't. It is a cold morning here. It is 30 degrees with a windchill of 23 degrees. The Sun is suppose to shine again today and the high is suppose to be around 49 degrees. I do hope everyone had a great weekend and ready to start a new week.
Before I begin my newsy post, I would like to "THANK" Anni of Hootin' Anni for Awarding me with a "Your Blog Is A Treasure Award". I am honored that Anni thinks that my blog is a treasure and I proudly accept it. "THANK YOU" so much Anni. You are a wonderful person and I enjoy visiting your blog. If you have never been to visit Anni, just go over to Hootin' Anni's blog and pay her a visit. She has her blog all decorated up for the Christmas Season.

"THANK YOU" again Anni for this wonderful Award. I really appreciate it.

Well, today is BooMama's "Christmas Tour of Homes". I do hope everyone will have a great time. I'm sorry to say that I won't be able to participate this year. As much as I was looking forward to it, I just can't do it this year. Hubby talked to his friend about the Team Driving Job that I had mentioned a few days ago. Come to find out, his team driver is going to stay with him. So, that means my hubby lost out on that job. There is another possibility. Hubby talked to his Uncle about teaming up again with the company they worked for before, and his uncle said he would team up with hubby. Hubby is suppose to call the company sometime today and see if they have anything for them. I sure hope they do have something for them, because if they don't, then I don't know what we will do. I ask that yall PLEASE keep praying that God will find hubby a job. I would so appreciate it. Anyway, I may visit today and see everyone's decorations.

I did manage to visit a few friends last night. It was a busy weekend around here. Hubby got in Friday afternoon while I was at the girls School Christmas Parties. I had a good time out at the School. I had to go from one room to the other so I could be at both of the girl's parties. I stayed a little while in one room and then went to the other room for a while. Everyone had a good time and they had chips and dips, cookies, candy, and soda's. I had a little to eat in each of my girl's rooms. Our girl's had plans to stay all night with my Sister on Friday night. My youngest daughter had a friend to go with her down there. Me and hubby had another "ALONE" night Friday night. We went to the local Cowboy Grill Restaurant here in town and ate supper. We started out with an appetizer of Loaded Chips. Hubby had a half rack of baby back ribs with the trimmings to go with it. I had a hamburger steak with baked potato. It was good. I couldn't eat all of my hamburger steak, so I had to bring it home. After our supper, we went to our local gas station here in town. You can rent movies there also. In fact, that is the only place in town to rent movies. We rented the movie "Evan Almighty". It was a good and funny movie. We also rented "The Wendall Baker Story". It was a good movie also, but still I have no clue who Wendall Baker is. I had a couple of Pina Coloda Wine Coolers and hubby had a couple of beers while we watched the movies. It was such a relaxing and enjoyable evening just the 2 of us. Saturday morning we had to get up early. Our oldest daughter had a Basketball Game in Armorel, AR. That's about an hour drive from where we live. She played at 10:30a.m. but had to be there at 10:00a.m. My Sister took her to the game since our girls had stayed all night at her house. We just met them over there. Our girls ended up winning the game 21 to 19. It was a very close game. We were behind at half-time by 3 points. But, we came back and ended up winning the game tho. GO REBELS. She has ball practice tonight. Then, this coming Thursday night, we have got to go to Monette, AR. This is going to be a tough game. This is the team that they played a while back here at home where the girls did the hitting and all. So, Thursday night we have to play them on their territory. They are going to be out for blood so to speak. They are bound and determined to beat us. I may need a nerve pill before I go to that game. LOL. I just hope they don't do the things there that they did when we played them here at home. We will see. Anyway, after our daughter's game was over Saturday morning, we went to the Wal-Mart in Blytheville to buy some groceries. It was crowded, but it didn't seem to be as crowded as the Wal-Mart in Jonesboro, AR. We didn't even have to wait in line very long to get checked out. After we left Wal-Mart, we were all hungry. We stopped at the Sonic there in Blytheville. The girl's used their Sonic Gift Cards that they had received from "Santa" on Tuesday night to buy their lunch. Me and hubby bought our own lunch. After we finished with our lunch, we came back home and I had groceries to put up. I was so tired and I didn't even cook Saturday night. We just snacked around. Our oldest daughter had a friend over to stay all night with her and we rented some more movies. We rented the movie "Waitress". Hubby had watched it on Sunday afternoon. I was alseep when he watched it but got up in time to see the end of it. He watched it over again so I could see it all. It was a very good movie. He had rented some scarry movies as well. I don't watch those kind. My Sister came and got our girls yesterday afternoon and took them to Jonesboro to have some pictures made. My Sister had their pictures made and will give them to our Parents for Christmas. When they got home last night, their hair was so pretty. My Sister had curled their hair and had done their make-up and they looked beautiful. I can't wait to see the pictures. Hubby rented some more movies last night. Most of them were scarry movies again. I picked out the movie "Georgia Rules". We didn't get to watch it last night. I will try and watch it sometime today. Me and hubby had Hoagie Sandwiches for our supper last night with some chips. The girls had already eaten when they got home. My Sister took them to Ryan's in Jonesboro after they had their pictures made. I also did laundry yesterday. I did 3 loads. I still have one more load to do today. So, that has caught me up on what's been happening around here over the weekend.

We didn't get the Snow that was predicted. It started raining around 11:00p.m. Friday night and it rained hard. It rained all day again on Saturday. We had to travel in it and it wasn't fun. It was a cold rain too. It was windy outside as well. On our way home from Armorel and Blytheville Saturday afternoon, it got foggy. It wasn't so foggy that you couldn't see in front of you, but it was still foggy. By the time we got close to Caraway, it wasn't foggy. God gave us safe travel for Saturday. "THANK YOU GOD" for watching over us. It finally quit raining late Saturday afternoon. But it was still cold and windy.

The girls have a short week this week. They go to School all day today and then a half a day on Tuesday and Wednesday. I did find out that they don't really have to go at all this week if they don't want to. They aren't going to count it against them if they don't go. They are both going today. I will see what they want to do for Tuesday and Wednesday. They will be out for Christmas Break and have to return back to School on January 2, 2008.

Well, I guess I will go do some more visiting and see who is ready for coffee. I am having my first cup as I'm typing this. I do hope everyone has a great Monday and enjoy BooMama's Christmas Tour of Homes. Take care my friends and May God Bless Each and Everyone of You. May your day be filled with Love, Joy, and Peace.

Good Morning, Karen!
I'm so glad that you had a nice weekend. And that your daughter won her game. That's a relief, I'm sure.

I will continue to pray for financial blessings, Karen. We've been in that boat before and I'm sure we will again. All you can do is rely on the Lord and pray He gets you through it.

Love,
Julie

Hi Karen, Sounds like a very busy weekend. I remember those when my girls were home. To tell you I do not miss them (the busy weekends) at all. The pudding I talked about I don't believe is from the song. If you make it it will be a dark pudding. Some of the ingredents I have never heard of. I am glad the gils won their game. I went to our girls game on Sat. and they won by a score of 34 to 30. Close game. Have a good week and know you are in my prays, friend.

Love and Hugs,

Dear Friend Karen, I am glad to hear things are ok with you. When you didn't post, I was afraid you were sick.
Glad your girls won the game.
I pray for your hubby to find a good job....we have sure been in that fix a time or two during our lives and God has always pulled us out. I know He will do the same for you.
Hang on, keep smiling and say lots of prayers!
hugs, bj

Sounds like a zoo over there-all the comings and goings. I haven't watched Evan Almighty yet. I want to see it.

Sorry to hear that you didn't get snow. :( I would love to send you some, but it doesn't work.

It sounds like a lot of running around, driving the kids to bb games that are one hour away. I guess it's in high school that they get bussed to places, huh? The girls don't get to participate in a lot of activities. Hubby works nights so he isn't home and I can't drive. It's always hard to arrange for rides.

I hope your hubby finds a job soon.

Karen,

I'm glad you had a pleasant weekend and that your daughter's team won. It's nice to rent and watch movies at this time of year. I want to see Santa Claus 3, but since it's a new release, it's very hard to get.

Have a great week. I've posted a prayer request for you and your family on my blog. I do hope your finances are soon more secure.

Love and blessings,
Mary

If you fell off the face of the earth, then I'd be there to catch you:-) hehe I didn't worry too much when you didn't post because I know what a busy time of year it is for everyone...I usually take one day per weekend that I don't post, sometimes two! Gasp! lol

I'm so sorry you can't participate in the Tour of Homes today but you can certainly have fun visiting them:-) I think I visited 25 so far! lol It will take a couple of weeks to visit them all. Sheesh!

I haven't stopped praying for your hubby to find another job...the best of luck to him!! Sounds like a wonderful Friday evening spent with him...I really enjoyed Evan Almighty but haven't heard of The Wendall Baker Story.

You certainly did have a very busy weekend and it's no wonder you were so tired by the end of the day!! I actually had a very lazy weekend, just lay around watching Christmas movies and cartoons! lol It felt good to do NUTTIN!!!! hehe

We had those strong winds too but we also had snow to go with it! Corey had to drive back to his place in that...it's usually a 6 hour drive but it took him 8 1/2 hours. I was worried sick until I finally heard from him!! He's my youngest son and will always be my baby, even though he's now 26! lol

Hope your day is going wonderfully my friend. Love you! xoxo

Karen,

I agree wholeheartedly with Annie...your blog is a treasure!

And it sounds like you've been very busy. You can add me to your list of blogging friends who are praying for your hubby's job situation. God is so good...all the time.....and your faithfulness will be rewarded!

Boy--that was a close game...so happy for your girls. Our son plays basketball...and his team has not won a game yet! Maddening! But they are playing well...just not good enough I guess! They are always within a point or two....so that keeps them motivated. I guess there always has to be a loser....one of the things I don't like about competitive sports! Still, it is good to be on a team.

Hope you are having a great Monday....stay warm! We're a little chilly in Minnesota today--but hey-we're used to it! I think anyway!

Blessings!

Diane

Hi Karen,
Congrats on your blog award. Your blog really is a treasure and so are you!
I read the update you left on Lib's comment that your hubby got a job with his previous employer, PLUS a raise in pay!! God really is good! I'm so happy he has blessed you all with this. He supplies our needs above and beyond if we rely on Him.
Take care and come see me!
Hugs,
Hope

Now really Karen...no ONE would want you off the face of the earth...wherever did you get that idea. We gotta build up your self esteem girlfriend!!! Luvya bunches, of course you know that already.

I just kinda figured you were busy with family programs and such. I wasn't worried. YET!! LOL

And boy howdy, those quiet evenings with movies and drinks are just the ticket for a good weekend if you ask me. Nothing's finer.

And congrats on the win, girls.

Hi Karen,

My, you did have a busy weekend, didn't you? Sounds like part of it was relaxing though when you and hubby were home alone to have supper out and watch movies at home later. That sounds like fun.

I'm hoping and praying your hubby finds work soon.

Take care, Karen, and have a good rest of the week.

COngratulations on your award Karen.
Your evening alone with your hubby sounds so relaxing. Just what we all need during this busy season.
I have only rented maybe three movies in my whole life. There is so much on Turner Classics and AMC that they keep me going. I don't watch a lot of TV anyway.
Take care and enjoy the Holidays.

Hi Karen,

Lots of cold rain Saturday, but no snow in my neck of the woods either, thank goodness. Today was a fairly nice day with the sun out, but still kind of cold.

Congratulations on the new award! Anni knows how to pick 'em!

I love reading about all your doings. Take care and enjoy the evening.

Blessings and Hugs,

Renie

Whew, finally got a minute to come and see how your weekend was. I've been busier than a one-legged kick boxer today with two of the kiddies here all afternoon and then after the school bus came there were 6 here! I've got 2 extra ones for the night too that didn't want to go back home.

Jerri loaned me The Waitress movie this afternoon, maybe I'll get a chance to sit down to watch it tomorrow.

Happy Monday!

Hi Karen!
I was beginning to worry about you because I missed your cheerful posts this weekend. We went to see the granddaughters again and help my daughter-in-law and son. Her recovery from a c-section is slow but steady. We got to hold and feed baby girls! They are still only 3 and 4 lbs. and have to be in the hospital for a while but thank the Lord they are doing fairly well. Please pray for them all.
It sounds like you had a full weekend and nice night with hubby. Those are precious times, aren't they?
It's cold here and some snow flurries yesterday. Coming back from son's yesterday, we went through a mountain pass with lots of snow and wind. It was scary but so pretty!
Have a wonderful evening, Karen! And I'm praying for a job for your husband and am confident God will provide for you all.
God bless you,
Leeann
