SHIVERING SATURDAY

Good Saturday Mornin' Yall,

It is a cold, and I do mean cold, morning outside. It is 34 degrees as I am typing this. I have no clue what the windchill is, but all I do know is, it is cold. I took hubby to his truck around 5:40 this morning and it was just too cold to be outside. The radar was showing some snow falling around Northern and Northeast Arkansas. There was nothing flying here. If there was anything flying, I couldn't tell because I was shivering from the cold. It is suppose to start raining here later on and rain all day Sunday. Yesterday was a cold day too. The high only got to 40 degrees here, but it felt alot colder. Days like these you need to stay in where it's warm and drink coffee or hot chocolate or hot tea.

Hubby had to leave this morning. He has to go to Mississippi to pick up a load and then he will be back home tonight to stay all night. He will have to leave tomorrow afternoon taking the load up to Missouri. Then, he won't be back home until next weekend. I have enjoyed my time with him during this Thanksgiving Holiday.

Me and hubby went out riding around town for a little while last night looking at Christmas decorations. A few had them on and some that had theirs up didn't have them on. Usually the day after Thanksgiving around here, people put up their Christmas decorations. But, since it was really cold yesterday, I guess that hindered some from doing their decorating. We put our Christmas Tree up Thanksgiving night. Hubby and our girls decorated the tree. I unpacked and sorted out the decorations and told where to put some of them. LOL. Yesterday afternoon, I did some more decorating. After reading about all my blogging friends talking about their decorating, it has inspired me to do alot of decorating. So, needless to say, I have done more decorating this year than in the past. I still have to bring my village over here from the old house. I may go get it this afternoon. I am planning on putting my village on my bar. I am really excited about all this decorating. Then, after Christmas is over, I know I will be dreading taking it all down and putting it away. LOL. But, oh well, we do what we have to do. Hubby took a few pictures the other night of our tree with his cell phone. I have saved them to my computer. I may post a couple of them in the next few days. After I get all my decorating done, I will try and post pictures also.

My good friend Diane, of Diane's Place, is going to be helping me with my Christmas Header soon. I really appreciate Diane so much. She is just a sweetheart. Maybe one of these days I will learn how to do all this stuff. Diane is very good at it. Me, ummm well, NOT. LOL.

Well, I guess I will go for now. I am drinking my morning coffee. It sure does taste good on a cold morning like this. Yall take care and have a great Saturday. May God Bless Each and Everyone of You.

LOVE & HUGS TO ALL,

We intended to put lights on the roof this weekend but it's so cold (30, right now) that I have NO desire to climb up on that cold roof! Sooooo, we may or may NOT get the outside lights up this season. If we have a HEAT WAVE, maybe!! HA...(remember, we're old, too!! The cold hurts US more! heh heh)
Stay warm and blessings to you!

I don't want to think about the cold. Ugh. A cup of Chai tea sounds good about now. :)

I haven't really went all out decorating in a long time. The last few years it was just the tree. It was just too much work to put it up and down a few weeks later. I might do a little more this year now that you and some of the others inspire me to be motivated. :)

It was 9 degrees this morning, and now up to about 17. We missed the chance to put up outdoor stuff last week-end when it was like spring. I don't think it'll happen this year, since we're leaving on our trip in two weeks, and will not be home to turn them on anyway.

I'm glad you had a good Thanksgiving and the blogging friends have inspired you to decorate more. It gets harder and harder for me to drag all the stuff up from the basement and put it up, and putting away is even less inviting! But it's great once it's out and I love it. The grands want to "help". I remember that kind of help, but had kind of gotten away from it since the kids grew up. But they're so sweet and fun.

Have a wondeful week-end. I hope your hubby has good roads.

I'm having thoughts about decorating but that's about as far as I've gotten yet. It's the thought that counts, right?

Karen, can't remember how I came about your blog but I have enjoyed reading it the last week. It sure was cold here this morning to about 25 degrees out. No Christmas decorations outside for us this year either we should have done it last weekend when it was nice.

Keep up your good work and I will keep checking in with you. I really enjoy your blog alot. Keep warm and keep the hot chocolate going for yourself and the kids.

I finally broke down and turned the heat on for the first time last night. I probably wouldn't have turned it on then but Emmy was here and I didn't want her to get chilled. She still has a runny nose, bless her heart.

If I can find what I want I'm going to buy a 3-4 ft. prelit tree. I don't like the fiber optic trees very much at all. I have one, but I want a traditional tree. That's probably going to be the extent of my decorating. I have a closet full of Christmas decorations and a ceramic snowman, holly candy dishes, etc. but I have to climb up and down my step ladder to get them down from the top of the closet so I don't think it's going to happen this year. My knees and bones just won't let me do it.

I just made a fresh pot of coffee and I'm enjoying my first cup. Sure is good on this chilly afternoon!

Let me know when/what you want to do about your header and I'll help you or get to work on it. :o) And you're very welcome, as I said before.

Love and hugs,

Diane

Hi Karen,

It's cold here today too!! I don't think I'm going to drag too much stuff out this year. Haven't put up a tree inside in years, but usually put lights out side. For the last few years that has been all on me... no help... so this year I think I'm going to concentrate on the real meaning of Christmas and put out Nativity Scenes all over. When I get some of it up, I will post pictures on my blog. I enjoy reading your posts.

Karen... thanks for stopping by my blog... I am not feeling well at all and probably won't be on long.. I am going to take a hot bath and hit the hay... I think I am taking a cold now on top of everything else..either that or I told Diane, it may just be allergies but I feel terrible.. It has been so cold today.. I came home and got a throw and got on the couch and turned the heat on... I made me some hot tea earlier and it made my throat better... this is definitely a hot tea or hot cocoa night... Hope you have a good weekend.. See ya soon... Cecil

Hi Karen,
It's always good to catch up on your newsy posts.
You're so ambitious to do your Christmas decorating already!
I feel like we're having a chat over coffee and you're telling me all the details of your days. I am way behind on my blog reading after being a way from it for a week, but will get back in the swing soon :)
hugs!

Hi, Karen! It's been cold here, too - very suddenly. We haven't turned on the furnace yet, but we put the gas fireplace on and it takes the edge off the chill. I'm now triple layered, socked and slippered working on projects. :) The Christmas tree is here, and decorations are down from their shelves, but a one step at a time right now - I'm enjoying my 'little' vacation - :)))
God Bless!

Karen,

It wasn't much colder here today than it was in your corner of the world. It was a nice sunny day. Once night falls it does get colder.

I look forward to the photos of your Christmas decorating. Thanks for commenting on my post.

Blessings,
Mary

I haven't done my Christmas decorating yet. I can hardly wait to get started. I will more than likely start next weekend.

We no longer decorate outside, but I do a whole lot in the house.

Love your blog by the way.

Hi Karen,

Rainy Sunday, rainy Monday in our region. Forecast says things will warm up a bit in the next couple of days. My family is leaving today, and I will be a bit depressed being by my lonesome again. But I'll be seeing them again soon. My granddaughters put up my tree as usual. Also the wreath on the door, and a few other decorations. All I have to do, like you, is to take it down after the holiday.

Your Christmas header is beautiful!

I hope you had a nice Sunday, and have a great Monday.

Blessings and Hugs,

Renie
