BURRRR!!!!! A COLD WEDNESDAY

Good Mornin' Yall,
It is a very cold mornin' here. It is 33 degrees with a windchill of 30 degrees. There is a frost on the ground also. I hope it ain't too cold where you are at and if it is, well, I do hope that you are staying warm. Coffee sure does taste extra good on this cold mornin' here. The last 2 morning's I have fixed oatmeal with sugar and butter for the kid's breakfast. They also had orange juice to drink with that. I told them they needed something warm in their stomache's since it was so cold outside. They loved it.
I hope everyone had a good Tuesday. I did do 2 loads of laundry yesterday. I cooked white beans and cut up some bacon into small pieces and put into them. I also bar-b-qued some pork chops in the oven, and of course made some homemade buttermilk cornbread. I didn't get around to fixing any potatoes of any kind. I figured what I had cooked was enough. It was so good. We had plenty of leftovers, so, my supper for tonight is already cooked, all I have to do is just heat it back up.
Yesterday when I picked the girls up from school they told me that our electricity was going to go out about midnight last night and stay out till about 3:00a.m. They said the power company had called the school and told them. Well, it did go out at midnight. It came back on around 2:00a.m. I think. Since the electricity was off, we didn't have any heat. It wasn't too bad in here tho. I had plenty of blankets on the bed. I had woke up a little after midnight and noticed it was off, then everyone else woke up. It was dark and so quiet. Almost scarry. We have a small thing (can't remember the name for it) that has to be charged and you can plug 1 small appliance in it and it has a light on one end. We turned the light on and set it in the hall so we would have a little light in case we had to get up and go to the restroom. Then, I had a bad coughing spell that kept everyone awake for a while. I finally settled down a little after 3:00a.m. I got back up at 5:15a.m. to start my coffee. I had to get hubby up at 6:00a.m. He is still hauling fertilizer. So, he will be home again tonight.
Well, I guess that's about it for now. I'm going to finish up this cup of coffee and eat me some oatmeal that was leftover from the girls breakfast. It will sure taste good since it is so cold outside. Yall take care and have a good Wednesday and stay warm. God Bless each and everyone of you.

Hugs to all,
Karen H.

P.S. I would also like to say that George Osmond died. He was the father of Donny & Marie. She wasn't on Dancing With the Stars last night due to his death. When I was growing up, the Osmond Brothers and especially Donny were my favorites. I had all their albums and pictures of them from Tiger Beat Magazine posted all over my bedroom. Sympathy goes out to the Osmond family during this time.

Karen,
Thank you so much for dropping by and entering my giveaway! I'll be sure to enter another entry in Pea's name for referring you!

Sorry to hear about the no heat problem. Our furnace quit sometime through the night last Friday and I was freezing when I woke up. My husband was able to fix it though so by Saturday we were warm again. We have a generator like the one you talked about. Comes in handy doesn't it.

Welcome to blogging and have fun. I've only been at this since the end of August so we're all newbies.

Love,
Julie

I just love your newsy posts...here it is the middle of a cold afternoon and I'm now craving a good cup of coffee...I think I may take a wee break from blog visitation and go make me a pot!

I too feel so bad for the Osmonds. That is two contestants now that have lost a parent while they were on the show. The show is demanding enough without having that to deal with. I hated to see Jane go last night but now maybe she can get her rest and truly grieve her dear mother.

Good evening dear Karen:-) I so enjoyed reading your news of today...I haven't had oatmeal in ages but now you have me craving it! hehe It sure has been cold here too in the mornings and I'm enjoying turning on my little electric fireplace and sitting near it while I have my cup of coffee right after I get up:-) I was so saddened to hear of Mr. Osmond's death...they are such a close family and I know this will be very hard for them. I use to buy Tiger Beat magazines as well and had pictures of Donny Osmond, Bobby Sherman, David Cassidy, etc on my walls as well! lol xoxo
