SOGGY SUNDAY

Good Sunday Mornin' Yall,
I do hope that everyone has had a great weekend so far and ready to start a new day. It is currently 54 degrees with a windchill 48 of degrees. The winds are out of the South Southeast at 20mph with gusts of 25mph. It has been raining most of the night and we've even had some thundering and lightening. It is still sprinkling a bit outside as I'm typing this. We are under a Wind Advisory for today. It's suppose to be a cloudy and showery and windy day today. Then, tomorrow it's suppose to be colder again. So, come on in out of the rain and make youself at home. Have a cup of coffee with me. If you don't like coffee, I have some Diet Caffeine Free Soda's in the fridge and there is some water as well. I hope you enjoy your visit this morning.

I've been awake pretty much all night. We went to bed around 8:15p.m. I had my alarm to go off at 3:45a.m. so I could get up and start the coffee and then get my DH up at 4:00a.m. Our youngest daughter had stayed all night with her friend on Friday night and when she came home she was talking about some scary things they had seen. They had been playing some scary game on her friend's computer and they were imagining stuff I do believe. Anyway, she had a bad night and I was up and down with her. I did fall asleep but woke back up around 12:30a.m. and got up for a while and went and layed back down. I layed there but couldn't sleep. So, I decided to get up and cook my DH some homemade buttermilk biscuits and fry him some sausage to take out with him this morning. That is what I did. He was surprised and he ate one before he took his shower and then I fixed him 2 more to take with him. I even ate one while he was in the shower and they sure are good. It's been a while since I had fixed any homemade biscuits, so I do believe some were in order since I didn't have any canned biscuits. He went and picked his Uncle up and took him up to the truck and them came back to the house and got his things and I took my DH up to the truck around 5:00a.m. Now, I'm sitting here having my coffee.
I would like to "THANK" everyone for being so concerned about our oldest daughter. Her fever broke early Friday morning and I didn't take her to the doctor. She started getting her appetite back and even felt like taking a bath. So, I know the Power of your Prayers and the one and only GREAT PHYSICIAN healed her body. She even wanted to go stay all night at my Parents house, so I let her. So, "THANK YOU" all again for your Prayers and know they were very much appreciated. You can tell she is feeling lots better tho. She isn't exactly up to very good par, but it will just take her some time to get all of her strength back. I'm planning on sending her to School on Monday.
My DH finally made it home Friday morning around 7:45a.m. He was really tired and he stayed up for about 30 minutes and then he went to bed. I had layed back down as well since I didn't sleep that much Thursday night. I was tired too. We got up around 12:30p.m. and started our day. LOL. I re-started mine you could say. My Parents came and got our oldest daughter around 1:30p.m. and then our youngest daughter got home from School around 3:45p.m. She had been invited to a sleep over at a freind's house for the night so we took her out to her friend's house. We came back home and figured out what we were going to do for the night. I had been wanting some Mexican Food and Seafood, but we didn't really want to drive all the way to Jonesboro to go eat, so instead, we went to Manila and ate at a new restaurant there. It's been open for a couple of months, but we have never been there. I had heard they had some really good food. We got ready and went up to Manila. The name of the restaurant is called La Cascada Mexican Restaurant. Now you want to talk some excellent Mexican food, this is the place to go. Of all the Mexican Restaurants that me and hubby have been to since we have been married, this is the number one. We started out with some chips and dip. They gave you complimentary chips and Salsa Dip, but all Salsa Dip's are way to spicy for me. I ordered me a bowl of Guacamole Dip. Oh my gosh, I was in Guacamole Heaven. LOL. It was just so good. My DH decided he wanted a bowl of White Cheese Dip and so he ordered him a bowl of that. We looked the menu over to see what we wanted and we both had in mind the Especial Cascada for two. That is English for Fajita's for two. It consisted of chicken, beef, shrimp, pork, and chorizo. For those of you who don't know what chorizo is, it's Mexican Sausage. This was all cooked together with onions, green bell peppers, and mushrooms. This was served along with a plate of rice, beans, and a salad.
You can't really see it that good because I took a picture of it with my Cell Phone from the Smaller version of the Menu I brought home. But you can tell it's on a sizzling hot "comal". It sure was good. We also had 2 Flour Tortilla's to eat with them. I only used one of my Flour Tortilla and gave my DH the other one. I said the heck with a Flour Tortialla, I will use the chips that we didn't finish eating. I had mixed everything together and made it like a salad I guess you could say. I had told my DH while we were eating that when we got home we needed to take an evening walk. He started laughing and said the only walking that's going to be done is out to our truck in the parking lot. LOL. I told him he wasn't right. LOL. We finally left there stuffed to the gill. It was hard walking out to our truck. LOL. Anyway, we came home and had a relaxing evening of watching t.v. and sitting around talking. This was our Valentine's Celebration together. I still didn't get any candy or flowers, but that's okay. Having a nice dinner with my DH and just being with each other was good enough for me. We stayed up till around 3:00a.m. and went to bed. We didn't get up till about 11:30a.m. yesterday morning. I got up and started us some coffee. We have to have our coffee when we get up. We went to our old house and got a few things and brought to this house. Our oldest daughter got home around 2:30p.m. from my Parents house. Our youngest daughter got home around 5:00p.m. I had heated up the pot of my Homemade Chicken Noodle Soup and we had some crackers with it. After supper, I washed dishes and started a load of jeans to wash. My DH was needing a clean pair for when he left out this morning. He left around 5:00a.m. this morning going to Salt Lake City. That has been my busy weekend.
I would like to "THANK" Mary@ http://maryswritingnook.blogspot.com/ for giving me the

Friends Are A Treasure Worth More Than Gold Award. "THANK YOU" so much Mary for this beautiful Award. Here is what Mary had to say about this Award.

This is an award that I am initiating. I would like to give this to a few people who have touched my heart in a special way.
If you have never been to visit Mary, please take some time to go and visit her. She is such a wonderful and loving person and the greatest friend anyone can have. I am so "THANKFUL" to have met her and I do enjoy her visits. I forgot to acknowledge this the other day as I was just over-excited about winning her Easter Giveaway.
Well, guess I'll go and visit and try to get caught up with everyone to see how your weekend was. So, take care my friends and have a Blessed Sunday. May God Bless You and Yours.

LOVE & HUGS,

Good happy Sunday Morning to you Karen! Wow....a very busy weekend indeed. I'm very happy to hear that your daughter is on the mend. That's always good to hear. And your Mexican meal together on Valentine's Day sounds sooooo scrumptious!! If all foods were to never be consumed again on this earth but Mexican I'd be happy. Altho, I wouldn't give my DH MY tortillas. LOL No way José. Uh-huh....nope, nope, nope.

Wow, the weather sounds very pleasant. Nice temperatures and rain. We sure could use some of that rain here. So dry...the wild grasses on the dunes on Padre Island are burning all the time. We need some of your rains....come on, share!!!

Okay, I finished my Sunday Snippet blogging this morning, and I will go visit others, then take the day off and relax maybe do some crocheting today.

Have one terrific day Karen!!!!

Sounds like you had a really nice evening with you DH. I didn't get flowers or candy either. We just exchanged cards. That's OK with me. I think we've spent enough money lately. Hope you have a great day and I'm glad your daughter is better.
Hugs,
Nan

Karen,

I would certainly take your rain to replace the freezing rain we've been having since 7am this morning. LOL It's slippery here and I'm not venturing outside unless it is an emergency. It's too dangerous with my knees the way they are.

I'm glad your daughter is feeling better. I was quite concerned about her only because she passed out.

Glad you and DH were able to spend some quality time together. It's hard when he's on the road all the time.

Take care and enjoy your Sunday. I am keeping your family in my prayers.

Blessings,
Mary

Hello dear Karen:-)

You're soggy and we're icy! lol We've been having freezing rain all day and the cars are encased in ice..should be fun trying to open the doors! Not that I want to go anywhere right now, the roads are like skating rinks. By tomorrow, though, it's supposed to get milder and we may get some rain...then it will probably get frigid again!! Weird weather, I tell ya!!!

So glad to hear that your oldest daughter is feeling so much better. They sure can bounce back fast when they're young:-) Oh dear, your youngest daughter must have had quite a few nightmares after all those scary stories and game at her friend's house! Steve's 11 year old son is like that, if he watches a scary movie or hears a scary story, almost guaranteed to have a nightmare that night!

Sounds like you had a wonderful Valentine meal with your hubby:-) All the food sounded terrific...I absolutely LOVE fajitas! Yummmm!

I was SO thrilled when I found out you had won Mary's giveaway:-) Congratulations!!! Isn't that friendship award beautiful that she's given us? She certainly is a treasure of a friend to have.

Karen, I just updated the update I did on Steve this evening! lol Figures shortly after I posted that, I would get a phone call! lol Thank you for your prayers!! xoxo

How about happy Sunday Evening? Because that's what it is now. First time I've had a chance to be on the computer today.

I'm starving! Your Mexican dinner sounds so good right now! As soon as I post this I'm going to see what I can dig up for my late supper.

Glad your girl is feeling better. Lots of that kind of junk going around right now. I hope it stays far, far away from me!

Have a good week, Karen. ;o)
