WEDNESDAY WHAT HAVE YOU'S & A MEME

Girly Comments & Graphics

Good Wednesday Mornin' Yall,
I do hope that everyone had a great Tuesday and ready to start a new day. It is currently 22 degrees with a windchill of 16 degrees. The winds are currently out of the Northwest at 5 mph. Yesterday was a cloudy and dreary and cold day. They say another reinforcement of cold air is going to be here again tonight. I think the high tomorrow is only going to be around 29 degrees. They even say we might get some freezing rain again on Friday. Now, go figure. What makes the weathermen/women think that if we was suppose to get some late Monday night that we would get some Friday? LOL. Oh well, this is Arkansas Weather for ya. You never know what to expect from one day to the other.

I was challenged last week by my friend Mary@http://maryswritingnook.blogspot.com/ to do a Meme. The Meme was created by Jan@ http://janparrish.blogspot.com/2008/01/great-to-be-me-meme.html. I am to list 15 things why it's great to be me. So, here goes.

1. I am the Wife to a wonderful Husband.
2. I am a Mother to 2 beautiful Daughters.
3. I am PROUD to be an AMERICAN.
4. I am a Stay at Home Mom.
5. I enjoy Blogging.
6. I have made many new Friends here in Blogland and I appreciate each and everyone of you. You all mean so much to me and I really appreciate all of the prayers that you have said for my Family and me.
7. I enjoy cooking for my Family.
8. I LOVE OUR LORD JESUS CHRIST who has always been with me thru thick and thin.
9. My wonderful Husband is my Best Friend and always will be.
10. I enjoy watching The Weather Channel, Food Network, and The Learning Channel.
11. I have to have my Coffee every morning when I first get up. If I don't have it, well let's just say I'm not a Happy Camper. LOL.
12. I love being around my wonderful Husband and our 2 Daughters.
13. I enjoy going out to eat when I can afford it.
14. I love to sleep late when I can. My problem is that my body has been programmed to get up at a certain time, and the day or days I am able to sleep in, I can't.

15. I love to be curled up in my bed watching t.v. on a cold or dreary day.

I enjoyed thinking of 15 things why it's great to be me. Now, I am going to tag these people.

I was also tagged last week by Patti@ http://nonnasnews.blogspot.com/. Patti, I will get to your Tag tomorrow or the next day. Just bare with me in trying to catch up.

My friend Tammy@http://www.blogger.com/profile/11144586438793982303 emailed me yesterday to let me know that she had been informed that today is National Pie Day. How cool is that. Okay now, as most of yall know, I'm not a baker. LOL. I am a regular cook. I fix meals and eat them. LOL. But I have never baked anything that I can remember. Tammy did say that Meat Pies are included. Whewwww, I'm glad of that now. LOL. So, I think I'll share my version of Chicken Pot Pie. I have only fixed it a few times, so I can't give any measurements or things like that. So, here goes.

KAREN'S CHICKEN POT PIE
1 large can of Veg-All

2 cans Cream of Chicken Soup

1/2 small chopped Red Onion

1/2 small Green Bell Pepper

Salt & Pepper to Taste

Garlic Powder to Taste

Onion Powder to Taste

2 Medium boiled cooked Skinless-Boneless Chicken Breast's chopped up into small pieces.

Mix all ingredient together in a Round Casserole Dish. Now, using the recipe on a box of Bisquick for their Chicken Pot Pie, fix the top like they would. I don't have a box of Bisquick in my Cabinets, so I can't tell you every detail in fixing the top. You will just have to go buy a box and fix it for yourself. LOL. Just a little cooking humor here. Bake in oven on 350 degrees for about an hour. It may take a little more time or a little less time. Just make sure the crust is good and done. If you would like to, take out of oven and sprinkle some Shredded Cheese on top. So, there you have it, my version of Chicken Pot Pie. If you do try this recipe, be sure to let me know how it turned out. You may not want to use everything I use, but that's up to you. Everyone has their own taste.

Well now, let's see what I'm going to post about now. Hmmmm, oh yeah. I went to our local Bank yesterday afternoon with all my papers and the Deposit Slip from on the 14th of December. I had to wait on a Customer Representative because there was only 2 of them there at this time. I didn't have to wait very long. Also, I was nice as well. When it was my turn to go up to the counter, I told the lady that I wanted to check into something on our Checking Account. She pulled it up. I asked her about the Deposit on the 14th and she told me it was in there on our account. I told her that it wasn't on my online account. She said she didn't know anything about that. I then asked her if she could tell me how many checks that the Bank had returned on us. She verbally gave me one of the check numbers and then she printed out the other check numbers. Well, I guess I had lost my mind for a minute and I asked her about the December check that was returned. She told me hatefully, I already gave you that check number. Okay, this totally shocked me. I was like, what the heck? I just said okay and gathered up my things and left. I had tears in my eyes for being treated like that. She was a total B****. I'm sorry yall, but that is how I felt about her when she talked to me that way. She also acted like she didn't want to help me at all. So, I just came home. I made a call to the Main Branch in Jonesboro, AR, and the lady I needed to talk to was out for lunch. They did take my name and number and said they would have her call me when she got back in the office. She did call me back. I first was asking about the online banking and about the Deposit on the 14th not being on there. She was really nice. She said that since we hadn't used the online Banking in a while, that the Deposit wouldn't show up there. I said okay. I then began to tell her how I was treated at our Bank. Our Bank here in town is one of several branches of the Main Bank in Jonesboro. I was so upset and nearly crying by this time. She said she couldn't believe that from the Bank here in Caraway. I said, oh yes, it happened. She wanted to know if I knew her name. I told her I did and gave her the name of the Representative that said that to me. I told this lady that someone needs to reprimend her or give her a talking to about her hateful attitude. The lady at the Main Branch in Jonesboro kept apologizing to me about this. She said she was an Assistant Vice-President of something or another at the Main Branch and that she would take care of it for me. I told the lady that that made me not to want to go to the Bank again. She apologized again. So, anyway, we are back to square one. We still don't know what happened to the money. The lady at the Main Branch did tell me that we had been overdrawn starting in October of last year. She wanted to know if we had been getting those overdraft things they send you in the mail. I said no we haven't. I told her that if we had, I would have been doing something about it had I known about it. Now whether the Bank mailed them out to us, is beyond me. But we didn't get any. I looked back on my stub in October and I still had a plus balance. I have a calculator that I carry in my pocketbook with me at all times. When I write a check, I use my calculator. I do it 2 times just to double check and make sure I come up with the same answer. The Bank did return 4 checks on us. I had already been notified of one last week and then the one on Saturday at the Grocery Store. So, we have 4 checks to go get and take care of plus the fees they charge. I want to ask you all to continue to pray for us in trying get all of this taken care of. I so do appreciate your prayers.

For mine and the girls supper last night I fixed a big pot of Homemade Soup. I was going to fix my cornbread to go with it, but I just didn't feel like it. We did have crackers to go with it tho. There is plenty left and we can eat on it a couple of more days. It's suppose to be turning colder again, so some hot Soup will really taste good on a cold night.
Well, guess I'll go for now and see who is up and who is not up. If you hear someone knocking on your door, please let me in and have coffee with me. LOL. Take care my friends and have a great day. May God Bless Each and Everyone of You.

LOVE & HUGS,

Karen,

Your soup sounds delicious and so does your chicken pie. I forgot all about National Pie Day. I will post about it a little later.

How awful that the woman at the bank treated you that way. People can be so nasty. Good thing it wasn't me because when people are nasty to me, I get nasty right back. LOL Not very nice, but I won't be treated like that at all. I believe in mutual respect and she didn't give you any.

I would go back to that bank, get nother representative and ask for a print out of all my account transactions since October. I still think the bank may have made a mistake. Anyway, I hope it all gets straightened out.

Take care. I continue to pray for your finances and for DH to be safe on his long hauls.

Blessings,
Mary

Keep un the good work. From experience I know how it is when there is finicial problems and trying to work it all out with the bank. Because of the not some pleasent visit you should be able to ask to have all or part of the extra charges taken off. Good luck, I know most businesses are understanding.

Thank you for stopping by Carrie's site. I have to wait to tell you her age. Also, I have a couple of awards for you. Stop by tommorow to pick them up.

Love and Hugs,

Good afternoon Karen, just got done checking on you today. I am so sorry that lady at your branch treated you this way that is just so wrong. Shame on her. Hope you can get this all straightened out with your check book soon. It happened to me also this past year and we are just now trying to be caught up so you hand in there my friend I am praying for you.

Now that potpie receipe you posted sounds delish. I am going to make it I think on Sat. or Sun. for my family. Temps here are pretty cold so anything hot and hearty is sounding good right now.

Try to have a wonderful day and talk to you soon. God Bless and be safe my friend. Hugs to you and the family.

There is nothing like a savory Chicken Pot Pie...sometimes I don't have the pie shells for mine and I did not even think about using Bisquick, I most always have some of that on hand!

Thanks for participating!

Here's to more pie!

Thanks for sharing the pie recipe. I hope you get things squared away with the bank. It shouldn't matter whether you've used your online account or not. When you log in you should be able to see your balances and deposits plus any canceled checks.
Wish you'd shared the soup recipe.

I'm drinking my last cup of coffee....which means I'll have to make another pot soon. ;o)

I make my pot pie very similar to yours. I may have to make one soon, maybe for Sunday Dinner this week. Don't know just yet.

What a mess with your bank, and there's no excuse for that clerk's rudeness! I hope they do reprimand her or take some kind of action against her.

Well, now you know about the situation and maybe you can get it worked out soon.

Take care and have a good Wednesday, Karen. ;o)

Love and hugs,

Diane

Hi Karen, Love Bears is right, it shouldn't matter how long it is since you last used your online facility, all the transactions should show on there. I think they're covering up their incompetence. Also, Mary is right too, you should go back in and see another rep (or if possible the branch manager, call and make an appointment before you go) and get a complete printout of all your transactions for the past six months. Check everything that's on there against your own records, and try to figure out what's wrong. If it's the bank's mistake, then they should compensate you for any charges that they've made and for any embarrasment that you've been caused. I hope you can get to the bottom of this, and you certainly don't need to be treated badly by the bank staff.
Chicken pot pie and soup sound lovely.

Good evening, Karen,

Here I am, late as usual. Oh, I really enjoyed your answers to Mary's meme. And I hate to hear about the rude treatment at your bank. If that had happened to me, my Hungarian temper would kick in by now!

Love the recipe for the Chicken Pot Pie. Got to try that one. Whenever I read about the delicious, homey food you're cooking for your family, I get hungry!

Be well and warm tonight, dear Karen. It's gonna be a cold one again!

Hi Karen,

I am so sorry for the way you were treated at the bank. She just didn't know what a wonderful and sweet person she was dealing with. It was her loss Karen... You have so much kindness and concern for doing the right thing....that should hold high marks you would think.

You just know that for every bad thing that happens like that God will bless you double for enduring it. That's what my grandmother's would tell me. You are the better person and God will reward your faithfulness.

I will definitely have to make your pot pie one day....it sounds so delicious.

There isn't anything like a wonderful pot of homemade soup on a cold day. It is so filling and warms our body and soul so that we can see all of our many blessings(some big and small).

You and your family and in my prayers my sweet and loving Karen.
May you have a restful night feeling refreshed for the new day tomorrow,
(((HUGS)))

Your chicken pot pie recipe sounds good. My question..where is Veg-All located? By the soups? In the canned vegetable section? I'd love to try this recipe.

Sorry to hear about your treatment at the bank. I don't understand why people in customer service act nasty.

Stay warm,
