MONDAY MEANDERINGS

Good Monday Mornin' Yall,
I hope that everyone had a great weekend and ready to start a new day. It is currently 19 degrees with a windchill of 11 degrees. The winds are currently out of the East, Northeast at 6mph. They are calling for a high of 41 degrees today, but I don't know if it will make it or not. Yesterday, they said it was suppose to get up to around 34 degrees, but it only made it up to 27 degrees here yesterday. It was a bitterly cold weekend here as well. At one time yesterday morning, it was only 14 degrees with a windchill of 6 degrees. Now that is bitterly cold for here in the South. They are even saying there is a chance of freezing rain for late tonight and in the morning. Now, what makes the weatherman wanna talk Ice? LOL. I mean, gee whiz, parts of the deep South got some Snow last week and all we got was a cold rain. Now, they're talking Ice? Hmmmm, we will see tho.
Sorry I didn't post any over the weekend, but it was a busy weekend for us and then I was tired and not feeling good either. Getting in and out of the cold air on Saturday really chilled me and I started getting a stopped up nose and my eyes are watery. It was one of those weekends where I felt like I was meeting myself coming and going. You ever had one of those kind of weekends? On Friday night, we went to Armorel, AR for our oldest daughter's Basketball game. You ever heard of those "Barn Burner" games? Well, Friday night was one of those kind of games. We had to play Luxora, AR. At half-time we were behind. The score was 14 to 7. But, even tho we were behind, it was still an intense game. After half-time, we came back and we scored some more points and at one time we were ahead by 8 or 10 points I think. Now let me tell ya, the refs wasn't all that good either. It was the same one's that had been refering all week, so I knew it wasn't going to be called right. Anyway, during the last quarter of the game, it was so intense that I couldn't hardly sit still. I was about ready to start walking up and down the sidelines like some of the Coaches do in the games. But, I didn't. My DH was there to keep me in check. LOL. Anyway, we won the game Friday night and the score was 26 to 25. Uh huh, yeap, one of those kind of games. What was suppose to be an hour game, turned out to be nearly a 2 hour game. Every time you turned around, one of the refs was blowing his whistle about something and they would have to stop the clock. I told my DH after the game that I needed a stiff drink and a left-handed cigarette. ROFLMBO. My nerves were shot all to pieces. Since we won, that meant we had to go back Saturday morning and play for the Championship. It was 10:30p.m. when we got home on Friday night and the girls had to get their baths and stuff, so it was late when we all got into bed and went to sleep. I had my alarm to go off at 6:45a.m., but I shut it off and said to myself that I would lay there a few minutes. Well, I fell back asleep and it was 7:45a.m. when I woke back up. I had to start me some coffee and get the girls up. Our team had to play at 11:30a.m. and had to be there 11:00a.m. It's about an hour's drive from where we live and I like to leave a little early because one never knows what may or may not happen. I like to be on time. I had rather be there a little early than run late. Even tho our game was suppose to start at 11:30a.m., the other games were running behind about an hour. So, we didn't get to play until about 12:30p.m. And we had to play Wilson, AR for the Championship. This time, they had all 3 refs doing the refering. I had never heard of 3 refs in a game before. Come to find out, they do this in High School Basketball. I learn something new everyday. This was a good game as well, but it wasn't as intense as it was on Friday night. The girls played a good game and at half-time we were behind again 14 to 7. Am I seeing a pattern here or what? LOL. The second half of the game was a close game. We ended up losing to Wilson 30 to 22. We still got 2nd place in the overall league games and 2nd place in the Championship. Some of the girls looked like they wanted to cry, but us Parents quickly let them all know that they played an excellent game and we were all proud of them. After the game they were presented with trophies. I took a picture and I will share it with you. Our oldest daughter is in the back row and the 2nd girl from the right. She is the one who isn't smiling.

Our daughter is like me, she doesn't like to have her picture taken and doesn't like to smile. After the game, we had planned to take them to eat Pizza like we have done in the past. Well, the Coaches wife's Mother had called the Pizza Inn there in Blytheville, AR to let them know there would be around 40 to 50 people coming in to eat Pizza. Since the game was running behind, the lady that had called the Pizza Inn kept calling them back and letting them know that we would be late. We all get there around 2:00p.m. and come to find out, they shut the Buffet down at 2:30p.m. There was even Pizza still left and they were taking it up. Our girls Coach told them that it wouldn't take long to get rid of the Pizza, but no, they wouldn't leave it out there for us. So, we all walked next door to McDonald's and ate there. So, everyone had a good time there eating and visiting. After we were done there, I went back next door to the Pizza Inn to order a Pizza to bring home for supper. They had a Manager's Special. I got 2, 2 topping Pizza's for like $16.00. It was about 4:15p.m. when we got home. My DH didn't get to go to this game because he had to sleep since they were going to be leaving out around 2:00a.m. He did get up and eat some Pizza when we got home, but went back to bed afterwards. I was so tired and the girls were too. I went to bed around 6:30p.m. because I had to get up around 11:45p.m. to start some coffee for DH to have before he left out. Well, DH woke up a little after 9:00p.m. and I went ahead and got up with him and started some coffee then. We sat around talking for a while and drinking coffee together. He got in the shower around 12:30a.m. and got ready. He went to pick his Uncle up around 1:30a.m. and took him to the truck and them came back and got his coffee and left our vehicle here. Since the girls were already asleep, and he didn't want me to get out in the bitterly cold, he just walked across the highway here to the truck. I guess it was about 2:30-3:00a.m. before I went back to sleep. So, yesterday was a lazy day for me. I slept off and on and watched t.v. and didn't do nothing. There was some Pizza left from Saturday night, so the girls ate Pizza when they got hungry. I did cook them some frozen Burrito's last night tho. They had done ate all the Pizza. LOL. Growing girls I suppose. That was our weekend around here.

Saturday evening, I did go to the Grocery Store to get a few things I needed. Well, come to find out, they wouldn't take our check. Evidently, when they had us all messed up here not too long ago, they sent some of our checks back. I could have just died. I was so mad. They had done put the Groceries in the back of the truck and then they had to get them back out. Now don't go thinking I'm a Hot Check Writer, because I'm not. I've shared with everyone how the Bank had us all messed up. They didn't tell me they had sent some checks back. So now, I'm going to have to find out just how many checks they did send back and go pick them up. As soon as we can get all this straightened out, we are going to find us another Bank. My DH had me to call them one day last week to see if they had maybe put a deposit from his previous employer into our Savings Account. When I called, they told me that we didn't have a Savings Account. Now, both of us are beginning to think that someone up there at the Bank is taking our money. When DH got up Saturday night and we were drinking coffee and talking, I had told him about the check at the Grocery Store. He seems to think that someone up there at the Bank is trying to hurt us both. But if that is the case, we are going to show them that they can't hurt me and DH. We are in this together and we will get thru this together. I told DH that if someone is stealing our money, I hope they are having a good time on us. I mean gee whiz, I couldn't even buy a gallon of Milk Saturday night. I was just so upset. Just when I thought things were looking to be better for us, I get hit in the face with this. This past week I was starting to feel alot better about things, and now, I'm back down in the dumps again. I'm wondering now what's going to happen next. The Bank and other Government offices are closed today. It will be tomorrow before I can start doing anything about it. I ask that yall continue to pray for us again as we go thru yet another trial. I do appreciate all of your prayers so much.

The girls are out of School today. Here at our School the teacher's are having a Teacher's Workshop. Most School's are out because of it being Martin Luther King Day. Here in our town, they don't call it that. Anyway, they are sleeping in this morning. I was going to sleep late as well, but I woke up around 5:45a.m. I got up and started me some coffee. I have to do laundry today. That is why I have that picture up at the top. I thought it was a cute picture. No, I don't hang my clothes out to dry by any means. If I did, they would be frozen stiff. LOL. Since I didn't have the time to do laundry over the weekend, I've got plenty to do today. I've got to get everything washed up so the girls will have some clean clothes to wear tomorrow when they go back to School.

Well, guess I'll go for now. I'm on my second cup of coffee. Would you like to have a cup of coffee with me? Please grab a cup and help yourself. If you don't like coffee, I have some water and Diet Caffeine Free Soda's. I think I will go visiting for a while. Last night I did some LURKING. LOL. I visited a few blogs, but just wasn't in the mood to leave a comment. I guess with me not feeling so good and being down in the dumps, I was just checking to see what was going on with everyone. I'm sorry for the LURKING, but I'm sure yall have had one of those days huh? Take care my friends and have a great Monday. Stay WARM. May God Bless Each and Everyone of You.

LOVE & HUGS,

Sorry you are still being messed with by your bank. That is so irritating when they continue to get it wrong. I will surely pray for you and your family. That would make me a bit down in the dumps, too.

Your daughter's team did awesome!!

Take care, Karen.

Hello Karen, I have had one cup of coffee and getting ready for cup number 2. Sounds like you had an exciting weekend of girls basketball. Second place is not to bad to end the season. We spent the weekend at ball games to. The 7&8 grade girls have started and will be fun to watch. The 7th grade girls have never had a basket ball in their hand before and the coach has her hand full teaching them. They have not won a game yet but are improving each game.

Sorry about the money problems. I almost believe that we should hide our money at home and forget banks. Not smart on my part. Pray will go up for you.

Have a great day and I pray you don't get any ice. We are to get snow.

Love and Hugs,
Joyce

Oh Karen, how embarrassing that must have been for you. I'm afraid I would freak out at that bank. LOL I hate people messing with my money. Our bank is very good, but once in a while they mess up. Human error is understandable, but your bank is messing up way too often. I hope you get it straighted out tomorrow. I'll continue to keep you in my prayers.

Congrats on the second place win. That's terrific. Tell the girls I'm proud of them. They did a good job. Second place is nothing to sneeze at.

Thanks for posting on my giveaway and trucker post. I always enjoy your visits.

Take care. I pray for DH and his uncle to be safe through all that inclement weather while they're trucking.

Love and blessings,
Mary

Karen...my husbands Grandmother used to wrap her money in aluminum foil and stash it in the freezer...not a bad idea I'm thinking!!

I am so sorry to hear about what you've been going through but you absolutely need to storm into that bank and have an account representative sit with you and try to straighten out your account!!
I will pray for you Darlin....I am so very sorry.

Karen,
I know you are really proud of the girls second place win!!!
I know how frustrating it can be when the bank is determined that You are the one making the mistake in your account... and they WILL NOT even check to see if possible THEY may have made the mistake...
You have to go down and sit in their face with all your proof of deposits before they will listen to your side of the situation...
I will pray for you tomorrow while you are trying to get it straightened out!!
Love,
Mimi

Good Afternoon, Karen,

I am so sorry you have not been feeling well. I hope you are still feeling some better by the time you read this.

Congratulations to your daughter on winning her basketball game. That was an exciting game. A game like that is enough to raise one's blood pressure for sure.

Karen, I'm sorry you are having so much trouble with your bank. I have a question for you. Do you do online banking? If so, maybe someone is hacking into your computer and is somehow getting money out of your account.

Take care and feel better soon.

Love, Prayers and Hugs,
Betty

Well, first I hope you're feeling better. I can only empathize with how tired you were...what with the game schedule and then trying to keep a schedule with your hubby's new job and all. I'd be plumb tired myself.

Congrats on the first win. What an exciting game that musta been with a score so close at the end. Too bad about the loss...but hey, 2nd place is good too.

I've been very busy today so this visit will be short.

You take care of yourself Karen, get some rest and feel a lot better soon.

Hi Karen
I'm a bit late visiting your blog because today I started blitzing my house, top to toe. It will shine, I'm determined.
Sorry to hear about your incompetent bank. I would go down there and rattle some cages. How annoying and embarrasing. Well done to your daughter. It sounds as if the team played a really good game. It's late now, goodnight! (Sometimes the word verification is so funny - this time I have to type upxwaah - how funny)

Hi Karen, My goodness, you've had quite a weekend! A lot of it good, like your daughters team winning first and then second place. I know you're proud of her and her team.

I think I would look for another bank as well, if I were in your shoes!

The weather has been bitterly cold for us as well. And now snow and sleet are in the forecast for later tonight. The older I get, the more I despise winter! I'd move to Florida, but I'm scared of hurricanes! LOL.

Feel better, dear Karen, and get lots of rest and sleep.

Love and Hugs,

Renie

What an intense week-end you had! I can hardly believe a bank would be stupid enough to mess with your money, but they don't sound very competent, that's for sure! I sure hope you get it straightened out.

If you'll look at one of those pictures of us in the rubber boat, you'll see a spray of ocean water rushing out the side of the rock - that's a hole in the rock that causes the water to really "blow" through it and spray all over the place. Usually the holes cause it to go high up in the air, but some of them are sideways. Really cool.

Thanks for your prayer for Kristen and the twins. She's having a lot of pain and there doesn't seem to be much they can do about it!

It's 5 degrees here tonight, with a high today of 11. I stayed in all day, because the university has MLK day off. I'd prefer having President's Day off, but they don't ask us!

You are a busy little lady and I am soooooooo sorry about that bank stuff..... They need to get their act together...... What a busy weekend! The team coming in second was great!

I would hate to have to go to work at the hour that your DH did! I know he is used to that sort of thing though.

I do hope the bank thing gets straightened out ASAP. What a royal pain in the butt for you guys. Hang in there and good luck with getting it all cleared up. I will certainly say a prayer that all goes well.

What a mess with your bank. Hope you get it straightened out soon. We had that problem a few years ago with a bank and they admitted it was their mistake but wouldn't make it right or refund our money for bouncing the checks. That happened with them two different times over about 5 years time. We closed our account with them and opened an account at another bank and haven't had any problems at all with the new bank.

It's raining and/or sleeting right now at almost midnight but I don't think it's going to amount to much if anything at all.

Stay warm and safe! ;o)

Love and hugs,

Diane
